It's pretty essential we get a result here, we are approaching "must win" territory, not studied the table too greatly (can't face it 😂) but could a win give us a 9pt cushion?

Let's start with a Charlton win Tuesday night. Let them go and keep Cheltenham with that gap. Will be really interesting to see what Hurst thinks regarding team selection for this one. They have a week together. Let's just hope Marossi is fit and maybe Flanagan?

Of the 3 winnable games coming up this is the one we must not lose.

We have put in our two best away performances this season under Hurst when we have had a week free before the game so the omens are good but we will also have to put the dreadful performances in the last two games behind us.

Yes got a free week, but then weve got 2 more in the next 7 days too. But if we only win 1 then I'd go with this one.

This is a good old fashioned 6 pointer. In Hurst we trust.

Vales problem is they have no forwards fit so have been playing a 17 year old youth team player upfront called dipepa, there only 2 fit wingbacks at the club Clarke and sang have been injured so have been playing midfielders, centre backs or a 16 year old in shorrock played against derby. They are also a side that folds once they concede a goal so if we can score early then I'd say we win comfortably.

Vales fans at derby yesterday were also singing things like your not fit to wear the shirt, your nothing special we lose every week, vale get battered everywhere they go and David flitcroft get out of there club. There last home attendance was only 4358 against Fleetwood when they have been averaging 7000 so the crowds have dropped significantly.

Neither seem to score many, so going a goal down is a huge disadvantage. Let's just hope Shipley or Bayliss can hit a worldie in the first 15-20 mins.

We have a long history of such disasters. Anyone remember Doncaster away 1997/98? Getting beat by everyone and only picking up 20 points all season when getting relegated out of the FL. Yes youve guessed it, we lost 1-0 at their place....... sure others can add their own version of such games we were 'odds on to win'.

Grimsby away under Simmo, hadn't won since Jack was a lad...then done us about 4.1

Obviously the Vale not doing very well. But then again neither are we .! Didn’t think PV would be struggling after watching them at our place , they had a few good players and at times during the game looked very comfortable on the ball. I would be happy with a point to be honest , two sides now struggling to remain in League 1 . Could be very interesting next season. Shrewsbury Town, Port Vale , Wrexham and Walsall all battling it out to be top dog 😂😂
Ohh , and of course our ex Manager Cotterill visiting us with his side FGR who he has rescued from relegation .

Boston won 6-0, good job they were average or it would have been double figures

After a couple of disappointing performances and town hovering above the drop zone, Hurst needs to galvanize town , Cheltenham and and port vale have two games in hand and have better goal differences than town, The next three games are crucial as we play two teams in the drop zone. In the form table we are already in the drop zone, we must win against the two teams in the drop zone and pick at least a point against the other team.

Desperate for a win but I’d describe it as a must not loose game. Team and fans need to turn up and start on the front foot, won’t take much to turn the Vale fans against their team.
With 996 allocated tickets, availability now changed from very good to good so could go off sale Thursday like Reading but no sales on the day I’d of thought?
Getting tickets today full car can’t wait 🤪

We are desperate for a win and view this game as possibly the one to do it.
Port Vale desparate for a win and view this game as possibly the one to do it.
Cant see it being a classic at all, but let's all be up for it. Players and fans.

We should be taking well over a thousand for this. It’s local, the toxic atmosphere and outright hatred of past years seems to have mellowed, and it’s our most important game of the season so far.
Marosi
Feeney - Dunkley - Sraha - Benning
Perry - Winchester - Bayliss
Bloxham - Udoh - Shipley
Subs - Burgoyne, Flanagan, Bennett, Hinchey, Sobowale, O’Brien, Bowman
Prediction: 2-1 Salop

Personally I think we are better playing this game away from home.get the early goal as at reading, and there fans will turn.the only thing I worry about,is there enough commitment from our players.hurst has mentioned it a few times,in his last couple of interviews......we will see🙏🙏🙏

Let's do it here". and The V*le fans will be thinking "here we go again" Will be a good atmosphere, we've just gotta get behind them from the off

Marosi still a doubt, should we be considering an emergency loan keeper?
And when asked about the Town number one’s fitness Hurst did not seem confident he will be fit to feature in their crunch match against Port Vale this weekend.
It did cross my mind although quickly dismissed whether this could be a cost saving exercise saving on appearance fee (£500 allegedly) and clean sheet bonus (£500 allegedly). Surely not.
