Yep I'm there with my eldest boy, well when I say "boy"..he's 42😁
Pity they couldn't get all of the regular starting eleven,Ie no Hockaday,Stitch,Bomber and Wayne Clarke but an absolutely fantastic line up. There where a few names on the list that I didn't associate with that season but having just Googled them all they where all there for all or part of the season. Excellent work by those who have done the groundwork,I'm really looking forward to it

There has been a lot of effort into trying to get hold of players and contact.
bomber could not make it, he’s in Spain Dave Hockaday could not make it Wayne Clarke and Dave Walton - unable to get hold of joe Gallen is in Australia Mark Rutherford is in Ireland
Mark Smith and Mark Blake are both unable to attend but wished us all a great evening.

If we did did they also storm their league?...What a squad we had😁

Mark Rutherford is in Ireland, surely MM could have tracked him down and probably signed him........ 😉

Saw Tommy Lynch walking up Pride Hill this morning. A bit grey round the temples, but looking pretty good.

If I remember correctly Walton came in on loan as cover and Blake was never able to get his place back. Ended up at Fulham the following season I think.

Blake a lot longer to recover than expected so Walton, initially on loan was signed permanently and when fit again Blake couldnt get his place back. Blake did play one game when not fully fit as cover but had quite limited movement in his shoulder so couldnt do anything like take throw ins. Been reading up about this season recently but couldnt make it tonight.

Saw Tommy Lynch walking up Pride Hill this morning. A bit grey round the temples, but looking pretty good. Now there was a player from the Irish league! Was Sunderland who got him from the League of Ireland, only played a small number of games for then then came to us. But yes a contender for our best ever player from Ireland.

I'm amazed than no contact could be made with Clarke and Walton. Neither were just players for us, both played for other bigger clubs too. Not knocking anyone, just amazed they seem to have dissappeared.

( dont take it personal , im just asking politely for the sake of curiosity ) I know im sat at home but have given my excuses, looks to me like there was an awful lot of hard work put in by Roger and co to make tonight happen and there are many places empty , looks fantastic value for money too so too expensive surely not a reason ? , I dont know actually I wonder if others could say why they haven't gone, just for feedback. ( it might help ) ( it's not an interrogation lol ) , I just feel these kind of events should be sold out within hours and wonder why they are not , I know personally I've missed every 'in the stiffs live event'. and I dont even know why I have and kick myself for doing so this particular event my thoughts go out to Glyn Price, he would have been drooling right now ;-)

Especially as his eldest brother also played for us and they were only from down the road at Walsall and he played for them before us.

I was just amazed that having such contact in the past with the Clarke family that we havnt been able to track them down.

If I were still in Shropshire and well, I would definitely have been there. I might even have considered coming down for the weekend had I’d been able. It is, as someone else has said, my season.

But to answer your question in more detail if I was in the county. I'm not sure it would be my thing. A mix of social anxiety and the awkwardness of meeting my childhood heroes. Good on them for attending and those that go and of course those for organising the event. Its only a good thing

I may be biased but what a great night
The lads were on top form and a packed sov seemed to really enjoy it. Met the players who made me a town fan and they all seemed so humbled to be there.
Well done to Roger and Dunny for sorting, absolutely top night

It was a wonderful season that reminded me that your football team is yours for life no matter how much you may have been neglecting them. I treasured those end of season compilation videos - now we are accustomed to ‘in match’ clips and full match replays within hours.
