Granted not my words but you get the drift. Yet another example of cancel culture does not exist. This is crazy and yet for those of us who keep an eye on such things, unfortunately this doesn't come as a surprise... This is happening in education and in the workplace, we're now at the stage where we have someone banned from attending games because of wrong think. This is just weird and sinister as and all the more crazy when you consider who actually owns Newcastle United at the minute. Reported here... Football fan banned over gender-critical posts after ‘Stasi’ Premier League investigationFootball fan banned from matches until 2026I've been a member of the FSU for a good while now and whilst I appreciate times of tough, their work is incredibly important and if you can donate then I would very much urge you to do so. The way things are and the way things are going their work is going to be needed more than ever (OK, maybe not ever but you get my meaning).

Some strange things happening in society today. The Premier League (a private company focused on £££ and with moral standards as absent as the rest) spy on people after something that a) didn't happen at the football or involve anyone else from the football and b) was not criminal in any way.
It's also alarming (and weird) to see how police forces don't seem to understand the law. Humberside Police were sued for something similar to this and Merseyside Police had egg on their face when they had to backtrack from a campaign titled "being offensive is an offence". What absolute nonsense.
You'd imagine lawyers will be in touch with her now for an easy paycheck courtesy of the old bill and another to add to the list.

I did think the "Stasi" bit might have been a little OTT but having since read that the Premier League had put together a 12 page dossier targeting Linzi Smith I don't think its far off the mark. But for sure, its a concern and it looks a though things are only going to get worse. If you haven't yet looked at the proposed "hate law" over in Ireland I would recommend you do so, that looks to be the current trajectory and its crazy. And we know of course that such laws will be used by activists on the extremes to bully and silence those who do not agree with that whatever ideology they happen to adhere to and are trying to force on others, as lets be honest, for many "hate" simply means speech they disagree with (as the recent wins for Rachel Meade, Jo Phoenix and Carl Borg-Neal attest to). And there are more cases over the last couple of years and more cases to be heard still. Hats off to them, we really do need to thank those who will not be cowered and push back, its not an easy thing to do but its of huge importance.
