It's Friday, most of us are still buzzing following last Saturday and yet noone has started the usual pre-match discussion yet? This is the first one I have started...

Hope there's a good attendance for Hursty's first home game back in charge, hoping (and probably naively expecting) for a win.

Last week was a great watch with a really good atmosphere and lets hope we can have the same again tomorrow. Hurst is having to try and keep us up without much help from the powers-that- be on the transfer front but at least we will see a team that intends to attack where the potential of the frontmen Udoh and Bloxham can be unleashed. The midfield looked revitalised at Northampton and I am hoping to see Winchester, Shipley and Bayliss in the same form and to see Perry's selfless running for the team rewarded with a goal or two.

Same starting eleven from last Saturday, you would think.
It will be interesting to see who makes the bench.

Looking forward to it after last weekend’s turnaround. Be great to see a untied fan base getting behind the team.
Ideally we should have been pushing this all week but the first mention was midway Friday and I see they’ve stopped the e mail to fans promoting the game. I suppose they’ve been busy.

Just listened to Hurst's pre-match conference... Almost certainly some bias coming in, but I enjoy listening to him and he comes across well.
Interesting but almost unsurprising to hear he wants to ramp up the training intensity from the previous regime. Similar to when he came in after Mellon if I recall correctly.
Asked the fans to support O'brien if / when he plays which will hopefully give him some incentive to work for the team.
Good luck to the lads tomorrow!

Its games like this one that we need to be picking 3 points up from if we want to be comfortably clear of the drop zone.
And I think we will do.
COYB.

A bit of a tenuous link but it's ticketing related and I didn't want to start another thread. A friend of mine (Wolves fan but don't hold that agaisnt him!) is coming to the game along with a few of his family so there's a total of 5 additional people. He was planning to get tickets on the day but when looking att our website, the ticket office wasn't showing as open on a Saturday and he was amazed by that. Is that right? www.shrewsburytown.com/tickets/opening-hours/

I think unchanged with the win last week , if anything the right back might be different , 2 new guys on the bench, hope to see them both
3-0 town

E mail promoting game arrived 2.18 😃 Looking forward to a great atmosphere after Paul Hurts arrival and Northampton win and hopefully coming away with smiles on faces The team will be confident so unchanged with a stronger bench but not sure with Hursty at the wheel after a weeks training so might be a tweak. 3-1 🤞

Agree that it makes complete sense to stick with the XI, but think that bench is quite defensive focused. Reckon at least one of Idowu or Mata will make bench ahead of Bennett and/or Kenneh. That said, last week's team and squad was based off only a couple of days with the squad, whereas post Northampton, Hurst has had a whole week now to assess the squad so wonder if it could still look a bit different. And who knows re O'Brien. Back training and hasn't left the club in the window so could also be back

This should be an interesting test ,I really hope we can build on last week's much improved performance and it would be a big help to have two back to back wins after the previous losing run. Also if we are to keep out of the drop zone we must beat the teams below us.

I may, however get to watch the Reading match, if I can persuade my SiL (prospective)..... Mr Hurst has already re-rejuvenated my love for STFC COYB (or more likely, at Reading) COYR!

One good thing as well is that we've not had a midweek game and wont now have one until the 13th. That gives Paul and Chris even more time to spend putting the squad through their paces on the training pitch.
