Good luck to him. He did what he thought was best as every manager does. He did have considerable coaching experience so I was just surprised he didnt appear to want to change things when the system being played wasnt working. I suspect it was the same when he was at Walsall and was sacked after seven straight defeats. Its too early to say that Paul Hurst has got it right after just one game but he has clearly changed the way have played in the last few games. Injuries especially with loan players didnt help Taylor but all managers have these problems and have to adapt accordingly. Having said that we are all experts on the sidelines so wish him well. He clearly has a lot to offer but maybe not as a Manager or head coach.

Yeah best of luck to him. A really likeable guy who just didn’t seem to be capable of managing/coaching at this level. I’d imagine he’ll have to drop into the National League for his next job.

It wouldn't surprise me if Mat goes down the Simpson route. Youth coaching then in either a international set up or a top accadamy. The youth's will listen the 'grown-ups' obviously didn't. I wish Mat nothing but the best

Standard cut & paste LMA statement with the names changed, nice bloke, possibly too nice though!
Less media training, more coaching study and some work with an experienced manager or some works abroad may see him become a good manager in time.

A good statement and good to see the fans acknowledged.
I wish him absolutely nothing but the very best for his future.

I still have a suspicion that the style of play and formation we had under him wasn’t totally of his choosing, but it’s quite a mark of the man he hasn’t kicked up a fuss and laid the blame elsewhere Hope he gets another coaching role as it’s never nice to see someone who works hard get the sack

Great statement, thank you MT. Would welcome him back when he's had more years under his belt.

A more successful playing career than most previous Town managers, but sadly couldn’t translate that into successful coaching. A very likeable guy I would imagine.

Hope MT gets fixed up with something soon, he is a really likeable guy. I was willing him right to the end to be a success but unfortunately it wasnt going to.
I'm sure it's a good statement but as usual it's the typical Star article that tries to entice you to pay to read their articles. It wont work with me, and I'm sure others either.

The 42-year-old thanked the players for their commitment and said the team 'remains on course to achieve the objectives agreed at the start of the campaign' aka I got sacked when I was going to achieve what was asked of me.

Hung out to dry a little I suspect.
There is only so far you can go with League of Ireland signings and poor loan players (Yes all of them).
Never particularly liked Taylor as a player but have a lot more respect for him during his time here.
Hope he finds his level and it's definitely not to opening a builders merchants.

Pretty standard stuff, and probably part of his leaving agreement with the club.
Reminds me very much of his post match interviews. Some nice words that say nothing

He definitely needed to be replaced - but part of me did feel a bit sorry for him in this respect. The amount of points we had when he was sacked wasn't great but was probably at the lower end of what was acceptable or within expectations at the start of the season. Above relegation zone, proximity to loads of other clubs, on track to get above 50pts (based on PPG) If the defeats and points were more spread out across the season he probably wouldn't have been sacked even with exactly the same points total (although would have been under pressure). But then he can't really be too annoyed about this as the form predicted otherwise

As much as I despised Taylor's predecessor he knew how to talk a good game even if it was bs , being honest in interviews is a recipe for a quick exit and making promises is worse
