At least last nights results should convince the few who did not believe it ,that we are in a relegation scrap now I think the kindest thing we can say about the last months events off the field is that they have not been handled very well Would be nice to get a manager in today On Salopcast this week they said Mickey Moore basically scoffed at the idea that we were in a relegation scrap.

Even when we were much higher it always felt to me like a false position for three reasons, first that we were getting results that our performances didnโt deserve and that luck would eventually run out, second all the games in hand that other teams had, and third Wigan and Readingโs points deductions.
20th is more where we deserve to be going off the season so far, though I take no pleasure in seeing us there.

I never thought we were in a relegation scrap because I always thought we would pick up a few wins along the way as we were good enough to do so.
Of course due to not picking much up recently we drop further into it.
I'm sure / hopefully that will start to happen with the new manager.

But we would have been 13th had we drawn against Stevenage......
You score as few goals as us and lose as many games as we do then it's no surprise to see where we are. Many fans were reluctant to turn on Taylor because we didn't seen to be in any danger, now it's a bit of a wake up call. Trying to be positive, at least everyone knows the reality of the situation now

Im with you Grizzle , always thought we were too good to go down but what do I know . Hopefully with players coming back from injury etc we can get ourselves up to mid table and stay secure but who knows. A new Manager bounce is called for . Keep the Faith .๐๐

Absolutely, its been poor from day one. Alarm bells started to ring for me when Taylor said the standard had been set against Burton in that 2-1 win back in August. He wasn't wrong.

Fair few matches tonight. 5 of the teams below town play.
With Hurst coming in, there is definitely confidence that they won't be dragged into a relegation fight, but town remain only 5 points clear of the relegation zone with 4 of the sides below them still with games in hand.

Burton v Cheltenham so at least 1 of those wasnt going to win. Now neither are because its postponed due to waterlogged pitch.

Wins for Reading and Fleetwood, who have both found some form. Plenty to fight for down there still. Town only 3 points clear of relegation places now

So all becoming a lot clearer at the foot of the table after tonight. All played 30 games, except Port Vale and Cheltenham who are both played 28. IF Cheltenham win both those games they will still be 4 points behind us, IF Port Vale win both games they will be on 36 so put us down to 18th place. Vale cant buy a win from anywhere at the moment so wouldnt expect them to pick up 6 points from the two games.
Sure we need to find 5 more wins, and I'm sure we will.
And wtf's Peterborough up to tonight? Go ahead at Exeter from the spot, have a bloke sent off for 2 booking, then score an og for Exeter to equalise, then 5 mins later score another og for Exeter to win. Maybe it's not just the bottom half of the table that are rubbish this season, maybe it's the play off chasers as well.

Getting a tad worried what the state of play might look like by the time we get around to the Reading fixture. Derby and Barnsley speak for themselves yet Wigan are also on a decent run. And Reading don't look anything like the team we (just) managed to overturn back in November.
Plenty of games to go of course but I think things might get worse before they get better.

Iโm on the same page but have to remember there are 15-16 games to go which is A LOT of points. Itโs going to be tight and itโs currently in our hands. At least weโve started scoring again.

I think this is more of a challenge for Hurst than it was last time; simply because he has less time and no transfer window.
Hopefully history will repeat itself and Vale will go down again - I cannot see Reading or Charlton being in the mix; so it us Vale and Burton looking to join Fleetwood, Cheltenham and Carlisle in the drop.

Any chance of any further points deductions from Reading?
Any further tennis ball demos planned?

Think we are in a monumental battle to be honest. Taylor shouldve gone a couple of weeks earlier imo to give Hurst more of a January to work with.
Teams around us have gone heavy in the window. I hope Hurst can give us that extra bite to see us home.

I see Leahy scored again last night, albeit in defeat.
8 goals and 5 assists in 29 games.

Who we cheering on tonight then? Bolton obviously but what about Vale at Reading? I'm thinking it would be best to keep Vale down there and hope for a home win? I mean we'll claw that three points back from Reading this Saturday anyhow, right?

Leahy has also played most of the season back in defence too, either as a left back or left sided centre back. So 5 assists isnt bad going. Definitely take his penalty taking back too. Think town have missed both this season haven't they?!

Do we need Leahys penalty taking this season? Do we ever get any given to us, seems quite a rare thing this season, probably because we are so powder puff up front

Leahy missed 2 this season and got replaced, however new taker promptly missed and looks like Leahy is back on them I know I'm on a loser in criticising Leahy but I just dont think he's anywhere near as good as some make out ok dead ball hes better than anything we currently have , wasting time hes better than anything we've ever had, passing 2 yards backwards etc, he'll only ever be a below average league 1 player, to me hes a Joe Jacobson mark ii, but the kind of player you need as a defender, not a wasted midfielder
