1. Rochdale 7-1, what a surreal day! 2. Everton 2-1 FA Cup win, ditto! 3. Lincoln 1-0 in 1994. Bank Holiday Monday, a tricky Mickey special, we knew then we were going to win the league! 4. Bristol Rovers 1-0 away, Auto Windscreens 1996. The first time I cried at a football match And yes Matt, that service station afterwards was class - they did not know what had hit them. 5. Plymouth 3-1, 2001? 1 down with 10 men and we win! The most committed team performance I can remember, one of the best ever Riverside atmospheres. If Gary Peters could have been there and bottled what we all had that day then we would not be worried about going down this season. Immense.

The two Exeter games - goin' up and stayin' up Birmingham away - 87? won 2-0 Hackett and Robinson The two Ipswich games early 80's
and Chelsea - seeing Zola on the pitch at Gay Meadow made the loss seem irrelevant

When i read the title of this thread my first thought was that 5-1 away win against Huddersfield but thought it wouldn t be in anybodys list. Fantastic match.Rained all through and we were on the open terrace.Good following too. Huddersfield fans must have took offence at the defeat though. The bus in front had a brick through the window on the way home as we were going along a road where the door numbers went up to 1200.

1. The Play-Off Final-Cr@p game, GREAT day & result 2. Exeter 2000 3. Beating Burnley 2-1 in the 96/97 remember my cousins stunned look when me, my dad and 'few' friends started taking the roof of the riverside singing 'sh!t on the Wrexham' 4. Town 4 - 1 Bury Boxing Day 2002 (my dads last game) 5. Town 3 - Plymouth 1 2002 (Great fightback with only 10 men) or Town 1 - 0 Rochdale 2001 (Late goal and we went top) Honrable mentions: Chelsea & Everton 03 Northwich 2004 (outnumbering the home fans 4 to 1 or something daft like that) Beating Peterboro 4-1 in 1998

That sounds more like the FA Cup win at Huddersfield when we scored past 3 different keepers and won 3-0. I sat down to get in the dry. Huddersfield must have hated us in the 1980's Keeping to 5 is difficult, I will have a think

(I have the pics !) I would have been on the coach for both, probably went for a pint with Smithy and Barry Stephan. For that Cup game a copper came on and said "You must be mad if you stand on that open end. Go and sit down under cover " Most of us did, and he was right, it was wet, windy and freezing cold I'm sure it was sunny for the 5-1, and I was on the open end.

1. 2-1 win v Burnley New Years Day 1980. Not the most important win ever but over 10,000 in the ground, superb atmosphere and an immense display from David Tong.
2. 3-2 win v Bury 1994. What a comeback. 2-0 down at half-time. this was the game that made me believe we had a chance of going up.
3. 1-1 draw at Wolves 10th March 1979. This had everything, hope, fear, joy, relief. I have only ever seen the goal on TV, I couldn't watch at the time but enjoyed seeing 9,999 other people going crazy!
4. 2-1 defeat at QPR, Jan 1977. I can still recall the feeling ;D when Chic flicked in the equaliser. We more than matched them and deserved at least a replay.
5. 4-1 win at Scunny 1994. Not just the way we played but the whole day. Great support, generous reaction from the Scunny fans and I spent an hour after the game in the Town changing room and the players bar.

scunny 94 and exeter 79 were amazing days but for just enjoyment and non-expectation.... leeds at home and leicester FAC 84 are on my list ahead of them ...though i do remember beating wrexham in 80..?? biggins header flicked on by king... AND the best singing ever was first time we went to Everton 14,500 fans I think - i remember counting 88 coaches parked along stanley park, my dad saying something to me, then me forgetting and having a go as I wanted to go back and recount - was at half time I remembered 88 ! PS Dave Tong used to scare me as I used to think he looked like Sue out of legs and co from top of the pops.. www.bbc.co.uk/totp2/trivia/legs_and_co/

We won 1-0 at Wrexham in 1980 for 6th win on the trot (starting from the 4-2 at Chelsea).
Maguire scored and there were thousands of Town fans there. Fantastic day.

That 7-4 victory against Doncaster was a hell of a game to and it was only 2-1 at half time. If I remember correctly Doncaster pulled the score back to 5-4 after being 5-1 down before Town converted a pen to make it 6-4 and I think Alex Mcgregor got the 7th. Even in those days Town could almost snatch a draw from almost certain victory.

"I'm sure it was sunny for the 5-1, and I was on the open end. "
Yes, Scooter, it was sunny but very windy indeed. I can remember a huge punt upfield landing on Gary Stevens' toe as he volleyed it in from 18 yards.
Honorable mention for most memorable game to Shrews 3-3 West Brom in league cup, early to mid-80s. 0-3 at home at half time.
Also 4-1 away at Bolton, similar time.

Arsenal 1991, FA Cup 5th Round 0-1. The biggest attendance I will ever see at the Meadow. Blackburn 1993, Coke Cup 3rd Round 3-4 AET. So very very close... Fulham 1995, FA Cup 3rd Round 2-1. Liverpool in the 4th round. Watford 1996, Division 2 1-0. Brilliant winner from Paul Evans, up to 5th in what's now League 1. Rochdale 2001, Division 3 1-0. Last minute super goal from Luke to go top of the league. Plymouth 2002, Division 3 3-1. 1 down, down to ten men against the league leaders. The noise on the Riverside second half was unreal. Aldershot 2004. Play Off Final. The match itself was pants but that penalty shootout was breathtaking ;D
Oops, that's 7, getting carried away there!
