I guess Udoh will effectively be on strike now after handing in his transfer request. When did this happen, has this been reported someplace?

Matt Taylor's hint on Tom Bloxham's future - Sloppie star (Tom Flannigan too)
Matt Taylor has revealed Tom Bloxham will not be involved in Shrewsbury Town’s squad this weekend and has hinted he could go out on loan again. The youngster was recalled from his loan spell at Morecambe earlier this week after making 24 League Two appearances for the Shrimps during his spell on the Lancashire coast.
But Taylor says Town will wait until after this weekend before deciding whether the 20-year-old will go out again.
“So Tom unfortunately cannot be involved this weekend because it is not until Sunday that his loan finishes,” Taylor said.
“So he has an opportunity to come back in and train with us. What we have said to Tom is that after this weekend we will make a decision that is right for him and that is right for the football club.
“He trained really well. He had a big smile on his face. We got, and Tom got, what he needed out of this loan, and that was to play 25/26 games, it was to be a regular starter, and he did that. So I had a conversation about that with him this morning.
“Listening to him, are we getting a better Tom Bloxham than we had at the beginning of the season? Yes, because he has played 26 games of football, the conversation with Tom will be around we know there is interest in him.“But it is doing what is right for him and also what is right for the football club. Tom is a player who we know can affect games.
It will just be a loan (if he goes back out again), look Tom is our player. I love what I saw in training in terms of what he gave us. He looks like a different animal on a football pitch and that is what playing regular men’s football would do for him.
“Have we made a decision yet on what we are going to do? No, Tom is our player. There is no way he will be leaving here in January on a permanent transfer, the only way he will be leaving here is if it is right for Tom and if it is right for us.
“If it is right for us to keep him and for Tom to stay and play games then that is what he will do.”
Meanwhile, Taylor also confirmed Town had spoken to defender Tom Flanagan after he appeared to criticise the club’s recruitment on the radio after the Wrexham defeat, with the head coach saying ‘the matter is now closed’.“That has been dealt with in-house,” he continued. “I had a good conversation with Tom, and he is well aware of what we expect as are all of the other players when they are doing media and broadcast and they are representing the football club – it is as simple as that. The matter is closed, but yes Tom and I have had a very good conversation.
“Look football is all about opinions, I understand that, every time I stand in front of a camera I am representing the football club.
“Therefore there is a certain way that you have to put yourself across and everybody in this building is aware of that.”

I thought that we had recalled Tom due to our injury crisis but that's not the case, as I read it.

Udoh going nowhere and looking like a contract extension on the table.. Haven’t you heard, Martin says he’s put in a transfer request after we turned down an offer Isn't Udoh out of contract at the end of the season. Also not expected to get over his injury until mid to late February? The contract extension will be all about getting a good fee for him....

Bloxham playing games at League two was likely the right thing to do, personally when he's available and depending on the situation of the games I'd throw him on and see if a system can work towards him, he may be a naturally better target man than Bowman due to his height but I think Bowman is more streetwise with his runs.
When Dan Udoh is fit I'd play him as a no.10 behind either Bowman/Bloxham or Mata depending on who comes and goes.

I didn't see any 'runs' from Bowman against Wrexham....or indeed from Sobowale either. Feeney hit 5 balls over the top expecting someone to be running and no one was. It's so very frustrating. Bloxham could be the man who runs. But the vibe I get from Taylors interview is that he wont be running for us this season. Booo

If we can secure him a loan where he plays as a striker in League Two I'd go with it, 40+ games under his belt will see him well for trying to replace Udoh next season.

Seen a suggestion on Twitter that Derek Adams could look to sign Bloxham on loan again… but this time for Ross County. That would be a good move for him if that was the case.

Get him back. He can't be any worse than any of our current strikers. Our strikers (well Udoh and Bowman) have proved that can be decent regular scorers, they just need some service. That's where the problem lies. The problem does partially lie in poor service, but when have either of the aforementioned strikers 'proved' they can be regular scorers?

Udoh 15, Bowman 13 (or somewhere close to those figures). For both your 2 main goalscorers to get into double figures isnt too bad at all. We were not scoring them many that season either.

Taylor’s post match interview makes his recall sound even stranger. I predict this is going to be another Bradshaw is the making.
Cotterill spoke very highly of him but we’ll see …

Is he staying, is he going (on loan again)?
Hopefully we will know tomorrow?

You just can't make it up.
1 We desperately need someone who can liven our forward play up. 2. Bloxham gets recalled from his loan club. 3. This might be the only chance we have to achieve anything in point 1, although obviously it might not do very much. 4. We consider sending him out somewhere else on loan.
Words fail me.

I’m seeing us deciding tomorrow that he stays with us and we’re then supposed to cheer from the mountain tops, ignoring that a it means they can’t attract anyone else in b he’s not going to make a blind bit of difference to our game anyway….

Hopefully it's 4a.
4a. We consider sending him out somewhere else on loan if he looks like he still needs more regular football and can't be gauranteed that at Shrewsbury, late in the window, provided we have managed to sign all our targets.

The way we are performing (term used very losely) if Bloxham cant get regular football at Shrewsbury he must be really poor. In which case leave him at Morecambe.

What's to stop him playing/coming on as substitute before a decision is made later in the month?

Looks to be heading to Ross County
I did have to laugh as there was some Morecambe fans speculating whether he was going back there. The conversation went "I'm not sure whether we need him" followed by "I'd have him back just to have as sub and add some depth to the squad". Perhaps sums up how desperate we are at the moment then if we are clamouring for his return and that's the view from a club 16th in L2

Total guess and, no doubt, absolute rubbish, but maybe we got him back to have a look at him in training and decide his future in discussion with him? Maybe, and again this is a total guess and absolute rubbish, a new loan deal will see us paying less of his wages?

Got hauled off halftime I think. Then I think SC said he was feeling ill afterwards. Strange one. He burst onto the scene with that overhead kick and hasnt kicked on since. Pun intended. I hope he gets a few games for us though, he is v young ans deserves the chance
