in being worried?
GP has not yet signed a contract, he is bringing in his own players(not a bad thing) we win and he is not at all excited, he said at the begining that we should all help, we in my opinion, are doing this by keeping on going to the games, we are trying hard to get involved with the nm, YET he still has not signed??
What if he were to walk, should he consider we are not doing enough???
Now i want to support him but find it hard to do so till he shows as much comitment
Q:- Is he getting paid for his time?

I think you are right to be worried. He will be getting paid but in the end its an unwritten contract where either party can walk away no questions asked.
I do not see how a manager not signing a contract that is there on the table for him is, in any way, benefiting our football club.
I wish he would stop buggering us about on this issue.

What happens if he wins the next 6 games or so, then attracts attention and gets an offer from a bigger club nearer home (Man City???)

I think you're getting a bit paranoid here.... It was a good psychological tactic by GP - there are a number of things that would be key to this club staying up in the short term and prospering in the medium to long. If they hadn't materialsed GP would be wasting his time. 1. The players - were they up for it or were they a load of over-paid prima donnas?? At least GP could look them in the eye and say "I'm not here for a meal ticket, are you?" I think some of the work rate and ethic we've seen since GP arived has probably answered that one, and perhaps one or two who couldn't look him straight back in the eye will be on their way soon. 2. The New Meadow - now a done deal (hopefully!!) and key to the ability of the club to generate off-the-field revenue. As long as they don't screw it up. Was it a coincidence that a deal with the Council was struck on the same day that GP joined us? 3. The Board - how would they back him? Again, they appear to have backed him fully with the likes of Langmead, Ashton, Lyng, and more (prob loans) to come I suspect. GP will know that we don't have cash to throw around but the Board are putting their money where their mouths are. Again. 4 The fans - tremendous for his first game v Swansea, good support yesterday too, but numbers still a bit low. And against Rochdale in particular didn't back team. We need to do more. Get your mates down there - we need a 6,000 crowd on Sat. (I expect Rovers to bring 1,000 or so) All in all, I think we will see him sign a contract fairly soon, especially if we pick up a few more points in the next 2 games - 4 would be good

when we had the glory team in the 80s we didn't have 4 grand so why should we have six for gp?? yes we did - especially on a Bank Holiday fixture. I don't have my copy of Breathe on em Salop in front of me, so can't quote exact numbers, but remember many crowds in the 6,000-8,000 depending on who we played and how many they brought. Couple of non Bank Holiday games spring to mind though: Sunderland on a Tuesday night 12,500 Birmingham 14,000 (although they brought a few!) West Brom 10,000 etc Agreed that there were plenty of 3,000-4,000 crowds too, but my point is, if we can't get 4,500 - 5,000 Town fans down there for a New Years Day game when we've just won the last home game 4-0 then we are failing.

when we had the glory team in the 80s we didn't have 4 grand so why should we have six for gp?? The first 2 seasons in the old div2 in the 80's we had at least 9000 for every home match. I agree gates dropped each season after that to around the 4000 mark but that was in an era where gates in general were at an all time low. Top flight clubs were averaging less than 20,000.

Foxie - you need to check Breathe on em Salop. We averaged about 8000 - I can't be bothered to work it out. First home game v Notts Co 7,369 next one v Cambridge 5,670 (lowest of season I think) Bristol Rovers on Dec 29 7,097 Following season - less than 5,000 for home game v Newcastle

Lets also remember that football wasn't "trendy" in those days so they were excellent gates. For a team that is frankly e we are getting good gates at the mo.
