Thinking to the letter B brings three really good players to my era.
Gordon Banks. 679 league appearances over 20 years and 73 England caps. Started his career with Chesterfield before moving onto Leicester and then Stoke City. Played all the games in the 1966 World Cup including the winning final against West Germany. He was still the No1 England keeper in the 1970 World Cup but was ill for the quarter final defeat also against West Germany. His career was virtually ended by a car crash in October 72 when he lost the sight in one eye but still played in the USA in 1977 and 78. He then managed Telford United but had little success as a manager.
Alan Ball. 833 league appearances over 21 years starting at Blackpool before moving onto Everton, Arsenal, Southampton and finishing with Bristol Rovers. Won 72 England caps and was the youngest member of the 1966 winning team at just 19. He was also in the 1970 England squad. He then managed Blackpool, Portsmouth,Stoke, Exeter, Southampton, Man City and Portsmouth again. He was awarded the MBE in 2000, but became the second of the 66 winning team to die in 2007.
Colin Bell Played 394 times for Man City in a 13 year career with them after joining from Bury in 1967. Played 48 times for England including the 1970 World Cup. Was nicknamed Nijinski after the race horse as he was thought to have a similar elegant style of running. He was awarded the MBE in 2004.
Those are my first nominations - hit me with yours.

I was thinking of a B keeper all week , was determined not to go for Bosnich who was good once but awful more, Buffon seems a great choice but not a big fan, I think I'll sleep on this one for now

I'm sure there are plenty more still to be mentioned. From whatever era you enjoyed watching them.

For Pilch a ‘B’ keeper who proved that not all Scottish keepers were dodgy, Bill Brown of Spurs.
Also from the Spurs double team a shoo in for skipper, Danny Blanchflower.
The list is a bit light on strikers, so I’ll add England No9 Joe Baker. He is a good trivia question. “Who is the only footballer to play for England while never having played in the English league?”
He was born in Liverpool but raised in Scotland, played for Hibs and then Torino before signing for Arsenal. Over 300 career goals.
Sadly to victims of the Munich disaster. Roger Byrne, United and England full back and captain
Also my favourite Johnny Berry, a small, tricky winger who was also capped for England. He survived the crash but was too severely injured to play again. Footballers were badly treated in those days and Berry was evicted from his club house when Maurice Setters signed.
