You wonder what happens when they have dull mid league finish at some point. How long will it take for the plastic yank fans to get bored and stop being interested? How long until the Mickey Mouse channel decides to pull the plug? How long until Wob and Wyan release a statement saying 'we will always love Wrexham, however, due to other commitments we are not longer able to maintain our relationship with the club as it is'? How quickly will the eyes of the world turn to the next Hollywood folly? How much money will Wob and Wyan walk away with, global reputations enhanced? How will Wrexham pay off the debt? How much damage will have been done to the wider football world, turned into a rich man's hobby and wages artificially inflated? the documentary will stop as soon as we stagnate, we all know this. We are on the crest of the wave and it lasts as long as it will. Ultimately we will cut out cloth to suit - their target was always be a solid League 1 team, with potential to get to Championship. Hence why they are spending the money now while they have it. As for them getting bored, no sign of it at present and they are talking about legacy for their families after they retire so the eye is certainly on the future. even if they do pull the plug, it wouldn't be immediately and they wouldn't sell to any Tom, Dick or Harry and would do full due diligence we aren't panicking yet, Mr Mainwairing Do you really think Wob and Wyan will stick around when the interest dies down? The problem is not that they'll leave it's the debts that they leave behind. I'm sure the millions that they are making from all this will be a great legacy for their kids.

To have this perception of Rob and Ryan is missing the point of why they’re doing this. Outsiders see what happens on the pitch; criticise or applaud the documentary etc. They have done so much more than that and are now very much part of our community. Their work for local charities is incredible and goes under the radar. Based on what we’ve seen so far, they’re here for the long term and are thinking big. I expect they’ll attract investment at some point and take us to the next level. I can understand why some will expect this to go tits up (it might), but there’s noting yet to suggest it will.

With all the hype and positive publicity, can you honestly imagine the owners ripping us off and turning out to be villains all along? It simply won’t happen. While I'd agree they probably won't, of course it's possible yeah. The flipside of their fame and exposure is that they'll be fine irrespective of how and when it ends, no-one in Hollywood's gonna not give Ryan Reynolds the next Marvel movie or whatever because they disagreed with his funding plans for Wrexham's promotion push and succession plans. It's a fair point that every club outside of the nation state ones can have doubts about what their future ownership might look like, but it's naive to automatically assume that because the sun's shining and the vibes are good at Wrexham for now it'll always be that way.

Be glad when this tie is all done and dusted one way or the other to be honest. Agreed I’ll third that. Nothing to gain from this game (apart from the 4th round potential of getting a big draw). We’re expected to win and have everything to lose including bragging rights. Ugh!

Be glad when this tie is all done and dusted one way or the other to be honest. Agreed, who cares about a long overdue derby match against some cocky upstarts with a chance to get into the fourth round of the FA Cup?! Yes, long overdue. Why? Because they simply werent at our level to play them. Let's get it over with and we can concentrate on more important games, either including the FA Cup 4th Rd or not as the case might be.

There’s been some cringeworthy head-in-hands nonsense from both fanbase since the draw was made, including on this thread, but it’s just part and parcel of the event. Is Stevenage at home the following Saturday really more to look forward to?

My sister lives in Wrexham and as you say so much of what they do is not something most people are aware of, my impression is they are both genuine about the club, it is a fairy story, I think some of negativity comes from people who are either not Wrexham fans or are envious and wish it happened to there club. Whilst my club is town I wish them well apart from the cup game.

Whilst my club is town I wish them well apart from the cup game. I don't doubt they are genuine. I just question if they'll get bored when things aren't quite so exciting. For me it's not envy. I just don't think it's good for the football league when clubs positions in the ladder are artificially inflated by external investment. It drives up costs for other clubs and at the same time pushes 'independent' clubs down the ladder. Think Bournemouth, Fleetwood, Crawley, Forest Green, Salford etc... It makes it harder for clubs like Shrewsbury to compete. Yes they do a lot for the community but so do many clubs around the country who because their finances are being squeezed are maybe less able to support their communities.

Yes I çan imagine them wrecking your Club. Only owners I trust are ones that are long term supporters of a club before they take over. Too many cases of people taking over in a fan fare of glory and turning out to only be in it for themselves. Hopefully your Disney Fairy Tale doesn't turn into Nightmare on Elm Street for you. Is Ryan in that? Who is Ryan?

Who cares? How many club owners could you recognise or even name? I wouldn’t get more than 5. Then again, that our owners are so recognisable by so many has created a lot of income that in turn has given us an exciting team to watch (at home anyway). Perhaps it does matter to an extent.

Let's hope it's a full blown cup tie on Sunday and that we are up for it.
There is a lot riding on this game, there is the rivalry, of course but above all else a win for us guarantees much needed prize money and the prospect of a plum 4th round tie.

I was just wondering how important they think the game is! Well it's a huge game for them. They are playing a team from a higher division after all. You’re red hot favourites, being in a higher league and at home. That comes with pressure. Wrexham on the other hand should be able to get out there and enjoy the challenge of playing a team from a higher league.

Just the goalscoring records of both teams this season shows you are more likely to score than us. I'm going 1-3 to the Wrecks. Come on you Blues, prove me wrong.

Red hot favourite's, I wouldn't go as far as that, even though we are at home. I think you are just talking down your chances, bit of psychology at play there

We’re the second lowest scorers away from home in L2. Too cautious. If this was at our place I honestly think we would be wining quite comfortably. Our last home game vs Barrow was Parkinson’s 75th at the Racecourse. He’s won 60 of them. That’s impressive at any level. However, for whatever reason we’re a different proposition away.
Our defence and your attack are not that good. Our attack and your defence are decent. I predict a tight affair and a replay. 1-1.
