www.itv.com/news/anglia/2023-11-17/mp-to-earn-250000-by-working-one-day-a-week-in-extra-jobAn MP will earn a quarter of a million pounds a year by working just one day a week in a new advisory role. Sir Brandon Lewis, the Conservative MP for Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, is to become one of the highest-paid MPs by advising a company partly owned by two sanctioned Russian oligarchs. Becoming a senior adviser for investment firm LetterOne is the latest highly-paid role Sir Brandon has taken in recent months, with his total of seven jobs earning him almost £500,000. His LetterOne role has already proved controversial because of the involvement of Russians placed on the UK’s sanctions list following the invasion of Ukraine. www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/nov/17/ex-tory-party-chair-to-be-paid-to-advise-firm-with-ties-to-sanctioned-russiansThe £250,000 salary from LetterOne will be paid to a personal services company, Bergo Holdings, owned by Lewis and his wife. He will work for the company for eight hours a week – meaning with his other roles he will spend about 14 hours a week on work aside from his £89,000-a-year job as an MP.

No surprise , yet another example of a greedy Conservative to join the likes of Cameron . Lewis isn’t bothered about sanctions , that’s never entered his head, he’s more concerned about trousering a fat wad. Makes me sick - Jesus we must get rid of this f.ckin awful government.

Are we suddenly pretending it's only Tories that have side jobs?
They've all got their noses in the trough.

Are we suddenly pretending it's only Tories that have side jobs? They've all got their noses in the trough. We're not - David Lammy being a prime example. But % wise, there are far more Tories creaming off money from jobs on the side than from the other parties.

I think that even lying Boris was against MPs having second jobs. If they haven’t got enough constituency work, then they’re not doing it properly. If they have spare time, perhaps they could attend some of the debates in the Commons occasionally. It apples me that you see the chamber on TV and there’s a handful of MPs present.
