Perhaps not surprisingly the Shrophire Tory MPs voted against the ceasefire.
Lib Dem Helen Morgan supported the SNP motion for a ceasefire

Meanwhile
“The UN Security Council has passed a resolution calling for “urgent and extended humanitarian pauses and corridors throughout the Gaza Strip” to allow for aid delivery and medical evacuations, after four failed attempts to respond to the Israel-Hamas war.”
I don’t care what they call it.

I notice that the Labour MP Kim Leadbeater supports a ceasefire but didn't vote for the SNP motion calling for a ceasefire because voting for something doesn't change anything. At least she'll have some idea how we feel come the general election.

An utterly meaningless explosion of hot air by our politicians.
If they honestly believe that a vote of any kind in parliament carries any weight with foreign powers like Israel, they are sadly deluded....but then most of our politicians are sadly deluded.

True enough, but would you rather have politicians that vote with their conscience and with due consideration of the wishes of their constituents or just follow their party line regardless of their true beliefs.
The chances of Israel even noticing the vote are non-existent, let alone of them taking a blind bit of notice. However if we had a leader on either side of the house that had the balls to actually tell the likes of Israel and Saudi Arabia what we really thought of them and their religious bigotry it would be nice.

And kiss goodbye to billions of pounds of arms contracts? Not a chance.

Nice idea in theory but to believe any MP who voted for the motion because of their beliefs and not because they have a high muslim population in their constituency (e.g. self preservation) is also a bit naive. *Cough* Jess Phillips *cough*

I'd rather they concentrated on matters which affect the lives of their constituents and not some virtue-signalling and meaningless exercise. As for religious bigotry, your friends in Hamas must come near the top of that list.

Completely agree, it’s posturing and virtue signalling and achieves nothing.
