Being bored today i came to your game and i could not believe how bad Darlington were Hignett,Wynhard,Fleming and Armstrong didn't look interested, Their Left back wouldn't get in our team , the gk was at fault for there 1st two goals, the tall centre half was terrible but you can only beat whats in front of you and you fully deserved the win. Considering they were 10th thats doesn't say much for the teams below them. Your pitch was the worst i have seen this season even in our so called pub league. On your 3 new players Langmead looks like he could be quite good , wasn't impressed with the left back and didn't see enough of the little lad who came on near the end. I have seen you guys three times this season so far and you have won all 3 so i think i should stay away for the rest of the season.

Darlo remind me of us when we got relegated, a few players in their latter football lives with other players around them.
They did look poor, but never the less we played some good stuff on our pitch, which Phil is still much better than the one your previous lot played on ;D

If I were a Darlo fan, I'd be mighy perplexed at making a 400 odd mile round trip to watch that. The 4 (!) ex Boro lads simply didn't fancy it: Fleming is (at best, and I am being generous here) a full back, and he looked completely out of sorts at centre-half. If you're as small as he is, then you're positional sense has to be spot on. As far as I could see, he simply didn't read the game and ended up reacting to whatever the Town front line did rather than stamping any authority on the game. Odd, for a man who has played a serious number of top flight games. After 10 minutes it obvious that he was never likely to control Langmead.
Hignett and Maddison couldn't stamp any authority on the game, and Armstrong spent more time out on the wing than down the middle. I've always thought he's more effective as an out and out centre-forward - at least I seem to remember him scoring goals for Stockport, Ipswich and Boro when given the chance - but today he simply never got involved. Wynard - the 5th of the former Premiership brigade - also appeared to be woefully short on confidence and self-belief, as his comedy miss near the end epitomised.
I figure Darlo simply can't be as bad as they looked today. I suspect that when everything clicks they'll be a dangerous outfit. But when - on days like today - things don't click, I figure the Qakers might be a disaster waiting to happen. The two full backs (and particularly the left back) seemed to have little idea about anything, and Clarke, the centre-half, was a bit like bambi on ice ...
But we had a good day and it's good to see people on this site not getting carried away. We showed some bottle, weren't scared to mix it, and took our chances when they arrived. All good. Bring on Bristol Rovers ...

same old story town win, hence the opposition must be poor, perhaps it was the way town went at them closing them down, high workrate etc that made darlo look poor? not getting carried away but perhaps gp needs some recognition of the work ethic that he is starting to install in a very poor team that he took over, well done gp - the best town manager since graham turner

If good chances had been taken in the first 15 mins against Rochdale we could easily have had a comfortable win that night, instead of another home defeat.
As GP said (hardly original) goals change games. As we gained confidence, Darlo's totally evaporated

Langmead and Grant made life very very hard for their centre backs
If you read their team sheet it would be quite easy to be intimidated
Hignett still looks a decent player but he was passing into thin air most of the time and trying premiership flicks on a pudding of a pitch
Armstrong scored a few goals against us as a young lad but he was nowhere yesterday
By the way Bally, what did you think of John Grant yesterday?
I just got the feeling their three up front didn;t want to be there, a lower league scr@p in the rain is no fun
Unless of course you are Langmead and have been given your chance at last by a manager who has a huge influence on you as a young player, or Jamie Tolley who at last could get forward because when the ball went up it stayed up, and Dave Edwards, who has seen his manager has plenty of faith in him, rather than a manager too blinded by his own ego. John Grant is playing for his future, this is his last chance, while I was impressed by Ashton today, didn't do a lot wrong at all
Remember we went to Darlo and got tonked because some of our former premiership players just weren't up for it
Get some half decent young league players with a bit of desire - well done Gary Peters, that win was saturated in your management style and decisions

every year there does seem to be a team that starts well then goes into free fall and then really struggles to avoid the drop - remember Barnet - I hope it won't be Darlo as I quite like them.....!

Being bored today i came to your game Yeah right.... You were so bored that there was absolutely nothing for you to do other than go and watch a team that you hate and have absolutely no affinity for. Thank god i've never been that bored . It would be like popping along to watch Wolves on a quiet afternoon. It would never happen. You have either an incredibly empty life or yuo are still in denial as to your true feelings about Shropshire's only team.

Jamo its got to be said your are total tit your telling me other people don't go and watch games of football that there teams aren't involved in?? get real. I even go and watch Bridgenorth,Shifnal or Wolves sometimes so what? I also have a great gf, 2 great kidsand plenty of friends. As for Grant TBH thats the trouble with him one game he looks like he is going to be a decent player but then he goes back to looking poor, one thing you can guarantee from him is his workrate but the quality is lacking a lot of the time.

Problem with you Bally is you come on here all nicey nicey but are really just here to s**t stir and put us down, we can see right through you. " You won...BUT" is the sort of garbage you spout.
As for our pitch, tell us something we dont know, it's always been bad this time of year, being so close to the river it just doesnt drain well enough. At least we didnt spend £200k on a state of art new pitch only to find it was waterlogged.
Now piddle off back to Telford.

Darlington were poor , but our game tempo, and attitude to win first and second balls was to much for them, Town should duly take the credit for geting right into them from the off.

have to say, having spoken to him in person on a number of occassions, that he doesnt come across as a s**t stirrer.
He's like many of us, whom go to watch other teams in shropshire/wales/cheshire/black country when our own team are not playing.
Nout wrong with that, he also offers his opinion up which should not b eknocked. As for yesterday, well he's right. Darlo were absolute crap, yes we ran at them and unsettled them, but had we put in the same performance as that there would have been streams of people leaving the ground with 25/30minutes to go and a good many people booing and shouting abuse as well as writing into the star and txting radio salop....
