When you look at the numbers what i took notice was voter share 58% and an increase from 2019 with an increase of 24.1% www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-67024349"Labour sent 40 or more MPs from Scotland to Westminster in every general election from 1964 to 2010. If the swing in Rutherglen and Hamilton West were replicated across the country, the party could soon be returning to those glory days. Sir John Curtice, professor of politics at Strathclyde University, calculates that such a scenario could mean that "Labour would have 42 seats and the SNP would be back down to six seats" - although he warns that such speculation relies on a "very simple assumption". I doubt that Labour will be able to replicate that % of a swing in a general election, we don't know how much of this was a protest vote in the by election, even so this is a major swing and personally anything that can done to reduce the dominance of the SNP & Green party coalition IS a good thing in my book .
