People are somewhat divided over the decision to scrap HS2 . For those who are annoyed over the decision to scrap the Northern leg good news. Sunak has sweetened the pill of discontent by announcing monies will be made available for loads of other local projects . It would appear that in Shropshire this would include more funding for the NWR Road and the reopening of the Gobowen / Oswestry rail line . All well and good but it has been suggested that monies may not be made available for some time , indeed some projects may not be started for at least 10 years . Is this just a ploy by Sunak to attract voters knowing full well that he needs to do something to close the gap on the Labour Party . What do others think . I see our MP is already leading the cheers for the NWR road project .

Is there a map of these proposals? And can it be superimposed over a map of the Conservative Party marginals?

One of the things it's being spent on is keeping the £2 max bus fare, I suspect they would have done thst anyway. I suspect that this money will be "used", or at least we will be told it will be used 3 times over.
I suspect most of the immediate savings until the election will be used to sweeten up the electorate. See what the November budget brings...
