Had a good chat to Dario Gradi today as Crewe beat QPR 2-1 at loftus road, Said how much he thought STFC have held Luke back, by not taking his offer, but he would have paid slightly more if asked, also has no further interest in him or Jamie, however he was glad Jamie got on the scoresheet, also laughed when Lee Bell was returned after only a few weeks cos he could not get in the team, Bell was outstanding today, comment from bell was that JQ could be in a room on his own and end up arguing with himself, my perception on Gradi.......top bloke.

That is very interesting and obviously something was drastically wrong in the changing room with all the different personalities. I suppose we will never know what happened but also interesting were the comments from GP after the match about Tolley's progress during the last two years, i.e., none.

well we'll see come the end of the season.
Ashton is on his way, come the end of the season, Luke will still only be 22 and he'll be dirt cheap (tribunal).
Could well be worth a gamble

To me the decision not to sell Luke was correct - his goals last season were instrumental in us getting back into the Football League.
My perception of Dario Gradi is he doesn't have the interests of Shrewsbury Town at heart.

Why should dario have the interests of Shrewsbury at heart? He only cares about Crewe which is right for that man.

I agree. It's too easy to talk after the event. No-one wanted Rodgers to go, certainly not at the price being offered. He's still got more ability than any young player we've had in a decade. He'll spark again, I'm certain.

I guess he's referring to the fact that he won us around 12 points on a simple points per goal ratio (Tamworth, Burton and Woking at home for starters), more than any other player last season and also the 2 vital goals in the play off semi final.
I can also note that Dario Gradi didn't pay to see Lee Bell play for us last season. He sucked.

One thing about that annoyed me today was all the texts on Radio Shropshire saying 'Who needs Luke Rodgers?' of course we still bloody well need him, we will still need him for as long as we are fighting to stay in the Football League, and hopefully for a long time after that as well.
You dont lose your skill and ability overnight, only your confidence.
