Just to say i thought Grant was superb today. He worked hard for the cuse, caused darlo no end of problems in the air and with his runs and hard work. Was out on his feet when he was taken off. Dare i say caused more problems in one game than Luke has in the last 10!! Let's hope he can keep this sort of form going and play like this week in week out. Well played John.

Spot on. Grant and Langmead work well together upfront from what I've seen today. I don't agree with all this slagging Luke off business, he always plays his balls off when he puts on the b and a shirt, yes I know it's goals that count, but please don't give Luke a hard time because he does work so hard when he does play. I just hope he can get back into form, but he should have a few games rest after today to see how the new strike force develops.... does look promising.

i thought he worked hard, but as a forward he rarely ever looks like scoring,

held the ball up well, won the ball in the air, played the simple pass, enabled the midfield to support and we won 4-0.

Blue andamber...not slagging Luke off, i've said my piece on that before. I try to be constructive in my criticism. I said a few weeks ago that he needed a rest and got lambasted for it!!!
Today we had 2 strikers who linked up well and played as a partnership. I have the impression that when Luke plays we have just have 2 strikers, not a partnership. Luke does not get close enough to his strike partner.
Not a criticism, an observation!!

Probably Grants best game for Town today and any other club hes played for for the best part of 2 years, the lads probably on cloud nine tonight.

Sorry if it sounded like I was having a go, that wasn't my intention, I agree that Luke doesn't link up aswell with langmead as grant does, I totally agree that the langmead + grant partnership does look the business at the minute. but then....On the way home people were saying some undeserved things about luke and he doesnt deserve it because he does work really hard when he plays. I know that you don't criticise unfairly, but as you said earlier, it was an observation (probably by other shrews fans too) that he doesnt link up as well as langmead and granty. didnt mean to sound like a moaner, im bloody chuffed about todays result.

blueandmber...i'm absolitely over the blood moon!!
i apologise to. I've said my bit about various players on here, mainly Luke. Always try to be constructive, but get a bit fed up of people seeing Luke for what he was 18 months ago, not what he is now. maybe opponents have just got the measure of him, teams just seem to defend alot deeper to take away the threat of his pace.

Neither Grant nor Langmead look like goalscorers.

langers is a class act - a young jemo - really holds the ball up well and the work rate is top notch (just needs to get that 90 mins fitness under his belt!) As for grant, he had an average game today and were raving about him And he did not score - the guy did well nothing more - still think its sad we have to feild players like him . Any one notcie - Langers subbed off - he got a chant Lowe Came on - he got a chant Darby came on - he got a chant Grant went off - just applase and nothing else Lukes twise the player grant is no question!!!!!!

Up to a point i agree with sean. Grant & Langmead are not 20 goal a season strikers, but they are 12/15 goal strikers. What they do well is bring the midfield and wide players into the game, they have to weigh in with their fare share.

I'm not denying that Luke's a good player, cos we all know he is. But, at the moment he just ain't doing it. As he ain't doing it, give him a rest that will do him some good and give someone else a go.

I think that Granty had a good game today he chased his arse off, but like they say hes not going to give you 20 goals a seaon, which i think is what we need. however it was their first game together, i do think that Langmead can be a fantastic striker who will score goals, but the lads workrate is second to none , under GP the whole team seem to be fitter and prepared to give 110%. Lets not get to carried away we beat the worst side i've seen at the Meadow this season with loads of oldtimers paid too much money!!!!!!

Personally I would send Luke off on loan when he returns, I think a month away from the Meadow may give him the inspiration needed to improve his form and he may even learn how to score again!

Grant always has been, and always will be, a confidence player. I'd be surprised if he played better today than he did against Gravesend last season.
When he has the confidence the lad looks a world beater. He played superbly agianst Burton and Gravesend last season, looked a total class apart.
The trick is to keep him going and support him form the sidelines. When things aren't going his way he's an absolute drain!
If you want the best from him, keep supporting him. I hope the lad makes it, but he seemed far too inconsistent to become a real gem!

He did fine. Today was very much about the team performance, and also that of the crowd's who got behind the Town better than most occasions this season. Which clearly helped the players. We're not going to win 4-0 every week and if we are to have a sustained improvement in form, we will need a striker to get goals out of nothing for us. Think Luke Rodgers is the player most likely to do this for us.

Grant did very very well today, held the ball up excellently and won his share of headers

I've always had faith in the boy JG and today i think he certainly made a few people rethink their opinions of him.
Apart from that dickhead down the front of the riverside. Who p**sed off early anyway - so what does he know?

was the first time i have seen him today and thought the boy did well, definetely didn't look like the half wit that some people have made him out to be.
