A very interesting article and the below quote in particular stands out. For those who have been a bit worried about pre-season performances, I'm guessing it is reassuing that extra quality is coming, however there's also the concern that for the next month we are going to have gaps and then of course how long it takes for those incomings to gel. Taylor said: “What I do know is the team you saw out there on Saturday (against Notts County) and the squad you saw out there will be different by the end of August. I know that much because there are still areas of the pitch we need to strengthen

I fear the worst, but, as always, hope for the best: below halfway, for me...☹☹ do you think we will stay up ? funny that last season, so many used to say things like, you're not Nostradamus, anyone could have predicted that blah blah blah and yet where are they now ?, come on have your say I can predict everything, except the future; but, if pinned down, I think that, injuries and departures permitting, we will avoid relegation, not so much because we will be better than a few other teams, but - and note the change in emphasis - because there will be sufficient teams worse than us!

I think that's the ultimate in glass half empty Maybe We only finished 12th last season as there were 12 sides worse than us 😉😉 It's surely the same thing , we were better , they were worse

good to hear as from the feedback ive heard we seem short of quality, we have gone full 360 on last season, from having a lot of quality but lacking bodies to potentially having a lot of bodies but quite a few of them being untried and untested in this league.
will certainly be an interesting month, my worry is still that if we start badly this could quickly become another Askey situation

If that is the case here, lets hope that Taylor gets more time to implement his approach.

Taylor gets sacked - He's going to get absolute pelters and rightly so (Plus it'll cost) Taylor takes us down - He's going to get absolute pelters, and rightly so.

one thing I am reluctantly hoping for is Leeds get a good result in their opening game. If they do I think they will go easy on us in the cup, a bad result for them might leave the manager thinking he needs to come up with a decent win against us, it could be a massacre if we play like we did on saturday

Can't say that I feel reassured when Taylor states we've got quite a few more coming in.Strikes me as a management team who have little idea of our strongest team, especially after Saturdays mediocre performance against a team that where 2 divisions below us 3 months ago.
However got to remain optimistic, otherwise what's the point?😁

Their striker was the top scorer in league one last season and was playing in the premier league the year before that. This isn't your bang average league two side.

Or is it an indication of how much was being spent (frittered away??)last season? A lot of this seasons signings will be on much less than most of the previous managers players. Plus there was a lot spent on things other than players wages by the previous manager which RW will have tightened up on significantly.

My only prediction is a bottom half finish and that I hope we won’t be playing Wrexham next season!! I also predict that not all the current coaching staff will be here by the end of the season! There’s way too many chiefs.

I think we will be a surprise package, something similar to 2017-18, though not perhaps hitting those heights. I’ll go for 8th.
As for other leagues, I’m not too bothered but predict the top 4 in the Premier League will be Man City, Arsenal, Newcastle and Villa, probably in that order.
Liverpool will disappoint their fans again, struggling to make a European place and Klopp will leave before the end of the season.
For family/sentimental reasons, I hope Saints return to the PL, although I don’t have much confidence.
Also, we will beat Leeds and go deep into the League Cup (say 4th round).
We will be knocked out in R1 of the FA Cup.
Wrexham will flatter to deceive and lose in the playoffs, starting a trend for their next 15 seasons. 🤣

Some people really can’t take a joke on here!😔. I couldn’t even try to predict, I know nothing about any of our new players other than what I have read on here and the clubs website and even less about the other 23 clubs! I can bet that my prediction will be more accurate than some😂

I wonder if we should bring this thread up say, every 10 games and see how our predictions are doing?

I wonder if we should bring this thread up say, every 10 games and see how our predictions are doing? Didn't quite manage this. Some interesting predictions, not overly dissimilar to ones for this season. Possibly more optimistic though. Certainly I was but that was based on having the strength of players that's have all gone bar Shipley.

This season will be a lot tougher than last and unless we get a good forward on loan we are going to be near the bottom
