here's your chance to be Nostradamus , make as many or as little predictions for this forthcoming season as you want to, any league, anything dont be shy like you normally are, go for it ;-) of course predict how the town will fair, but how about the premier league ?, what about you know who down the road in Wales ? I'll lock this thread on saturday , you may edit your posts until then, I mean we might sign Mbappe midweek after today against a league 2 newly promoted side I fear more for the town than I did last week against what was almost a premier side. I think we'll stay up, maybe 18th , its could be quite a struggle, if only the manager had a bigger budget ;-) I think bowman will hit double figures and Udoh won't be far behind him premier I think will be a stroll for city, Liverpool, Chelsea & Man U taking the top 4 relegated Luton for sure, Sheffield united and bournemouth wrexham, I think they will win the league by at least 10 points, let just hope they dont pass us championship, I usually opt for stoke so will again, I guess Leicester and Leeds to also go up speaking of Leeds, they kick off next week at home to Cardiff, I'm hoping they have a decent win and then rest most against us in the cup, I really fear a bad opening and they take it out on us, could be a slaughter I think we will reach the knockout stages of the pizza cup this time but thats it , fa cup we'll be a non runner overall not a good season for us but maybe something to improve on as for league 1 promotion, let go Derby , Barnsley, Blackpool relegation, Northampton, Cambridge, Fleetwood, wigan conf , chesterfield winners, oldham play offs

Town will flirt between 4th & 6th from bottom all season. My head says we may well not have enough to stay up, my heart says we might just scrape through. Derby, Bolton and Barnsley to go up. Port Vale, Reading, Carlisle to go down
Premiership will see Arsenal as champions with Citeh, United and Chelsea in the top four. Luton, Wolves and Bournemouth to go down
Championship will see Middlesbrough and Southampton go up, Rotherham, Hull and West Brom to go down
League 2 will see Wrexham walk it, with Notts County, Bradford and Crewe to join them going up

Udoh to be sold in this transfer window.
Town 22nd.
Arsenal prem, Liverpool 2nd.
Newcastle to get to semis of UCL but finish 6th in league.
Luton to survive. Sheff United, Bournemouth and Everton relegated.
Wrexham to get off to slow start. Parkinson sacked. Cotterill in at Wrexham and they win title with a similar job he did at Notts County.

I would like to hope that we get a striker in before the transfer window closes because I think we are going to be too reliant on Dan up front.
I think we will average a point a game; whether or not that will be enough to keep us up? I hope so.
I don't see us having too much of a distraction in the cup competitions, no giant killing this season.

Having such a small squad and with players injured before the season starts does not fill me with confidence, also we look thin on the ground up top. I tend to like to see what we are like with ten to twelve games played but with so many unproven players and a ratherchaotic start I'm not filled with confidence I hope I'm wrong but I worry we could have a season struggling for goals and hovering near the bottom.

At this stage of pre-season, I can only see a disaster for town. New signings could change things, but as it stands I think we're bottom four material.

It is a wild stab in the dark as I haven't been to a pre-season match and so many of our signings are unknowns, but will say 18th. If we lose one of Bayliss or Udoh then I fear that will dip into the relegation places

If Udoh stays fit/is as good as pre-injury/doesn't get sold - 16th If not - 22nd I'd kind of forgot about our players getting sold , on dans form so far that would be a disaster for us , hopefully his injury last season will be enough to worry potential buyers , but if he starts off well he's as good as gone in January

As much as I think people are pessimistic about relegation, I think the core of the squad from Steve is still there to avoid the dreaded drop. I can’t think that a team with Marosi in goal, Dunkley commanding the defence at centre backs, Bayliss adding a creative spark with a fresh Udoh is one of the four teams not good enough to avoid the drop. Given the squads we’ve seen us struggle with and be in the bottom 6 with, I don’t think they’ve had the quality of those players. Even if the kids struggle and we see a drop off in quality, there’s enough there to bail us out.
The season is a real enigma but an exciting one at the very least, youth and potential is one thing but how many kids at this level have we seen flounder and disappear into the non-league? It’ll all depend on if we’ve found a youth crop containing the heights of Godfrey, Henderson and co; or if we’ve found another bunch of duds we’ve taken a punt on.
I’m encouraged by what I’ve heard from Micky at the open day about the long term strategic direction but I’m unconvinced we’ve got the right head coach, particularly based on the performances in preseason.
So I’m going to be awkward here. My head says 16th, a bit of a drop off from last year but some quality that’ll bail us out, (if there needs to be a mid season change of head coach then so be it), but another part of me thinks if the pieces come together and the stars align we’ll finish just outside the playoffs at 8th after a sluggish start.

Oh and town - much similar to above. Think there will be enough teams worse than town, but don't think they will do much better than that.
So 17th it is.
Lost Leahy and Pennington and not convinced replacements are better. Bonus to have Udoh, but Nurse still out.
Squad looks a little bit fuller with more options but think the first XI is probably worse. Midfield is a particular concern. Someone mentioned Godfrey and Henderson but don't think we've got anyone in on loan of anywhere close to that. Anderson possibly closest but is a huge unknown in the complete lack of games he's had and his age.
That said if town can have a full season of Marosi, Dunkley, Bayliss and Udoh then can't see them going down.
But as ever all of these predictions may look very different by the end of the window.
