Absolute disaster for him.
Does make you question whether he was ready to return with it rupturing again so easily.

Is it related to the ACL or something completely different? Fear is he’ll have a permanent weakness there. Get well soon George. Knee injury so not linked. Yeah well I went down there the first 24 hours the thread was open right, and I did a couple of ITK posts. The bloke that runs the forum comes over and said - Oi no ITKs. I said I'm not an ITK. He said - you're not a ITK? I said - No, he said - well you should be, if I was you I'd take up a football Twitter ITK account, and if you post like that you'd probably be the best in the country! I said - I'm not interested I'm making s**t loads out of COVID-19 conspiracy theories.

Dreadful news. Best of luck with the recovery, George.

Smart move from the club waiting till Benning was through the door before communicating the extent of Nurse’s injury?
Avoided being held to ransom by selling clubs or agents who might’ve picked up on the fact that we desperately needed a LWB in before Saturday.

This is a terrible set back for George.
I really hope he can come back from this blow.

He did so well to get back to fitness , it must bea huge blow to him but also the psychological impact of having another serious injury on top of what has already happened to him . I wish him all the very best.

I wish him all the very best. Yes, if/when he gets back to where he was just a few weeks ago it's going to be the mental thing of "is it going to go again, do I hold back just in case".

Terrible news. I ruptured my ACL in February, and had reconstructive surgery last month. It’s such a frustrating and depressing time for me, so can’t even start to imagine what George is going through with his whole career at stake here. Wishing you all the best George

Wishing you all the best George I ruptured mine about 6 years ago, following the operation i had 9 months of physio, gym 3 times a week and hydrotherapy for around 8 weeks. I totally understand what you are going through as it's so tough but stick with it, you'll definitely get there.

www.shrewsburytown.com/news/2024/march/in-depth--george-nurse/An excellent feature and read from the club and George. Didn't realise he had moved to Shrewsbury, a rarity these days with players never usually lasting longer than a couple of seasons here. Really hoping and looking forward to him getting back to full strength and being a massive part of our starting xi next season. Top professional and a very good player.

Very touching and informed article.
Wish they’d stop calling him Nursey sounds like someone off Carry on Matron.

Sounds a very level headed young man, so hope it works out for him next season.

What a top player we will have if we get a fit George Nurse playing for us next season. Love the fact that he has settled in the town and will be fully committed to the club who appear to be looking after him well. Good luck to him. Great young lad.

Yes it would be good to have a fully fit George Nurse back playing for us next season.
But players are often not the same after having the same injury once, let alone twice.
We will be very fortunate to see Nurse back to his pre injury best, but it's possible it wont happen however hard he trains. Let's hope for the best though.
