This item was on GB news over the last 20 years the SNP have cut down nearly 16 Million trees on public land to build Wind farms, whilst we all know we need to reduce our carbon footprint this seems a strange way to do it, the question raised in the news item was does all the extra wind farms reduce the carbon foot print more than keeping the 16 million trees who would absorb from the air ?

The sort of condundrum that crops up with the "green" rush. Do EV cars consume so many scarce resources to make that they are not really all that green? Is the new fad for nuclear such a good idea when it leaves so much to clear up later? How much does a petrol car polute these days and are there still efficiency savings that can be made? How much money and resources is it going to take to enbable the National Grid to support all that home charging of EVs? Is Hydrogen going to be safe if it's used in the gas network? Do heat pumps provide enough heat for the money and how much energy do they consume to do it, or have they just got a "green" reputation?
In this case, knock down the trees because windfarms give a green image? I'm sure there are plenty more...
