Mad Nad has decided to give up her seat in the Commons. With immediate effect that’s it, she’s finished, gone. Today the blonde ball bag Johnson has had his list rewarding certain loyal supporters with seats in the other House, approved. Nadine does not feature so no House of Lords for her. At one time she looked nailed on for a title but no, for whatever reason she has not got a mention. An hour before the list was published she made her own statement . Dear me, I hope it isn’t because her beloved Boris has ignored her and in a fit of pique she has said f.ck it , after my show of loyalty you have taken me for a fool . Well, bugger this, I’m off.
Well, what a todo . What do others think.

Unless she has genuine health problems, I wish her good riddance.

Not even Boris was daft enough to give her a peerage. In the same mould as Ann Widdecombe and yes, Dianne Abbot. Gives decent women MPs like Penny Mordaunt, the North Shropshire one, the Green one, and Angela Rayner, a bad name.

'Why did you resign?'
She's acting like Number 6 in 'The Prisoner'.
Send her to Portmeirion and let loose Number 2 and Rover on her to get the required information.

'Information, we want information.
You won't get it!
By hook or by crook we will!'
Dorries revealing her reasons for quitting should make her a few quid in the likes of the Daily Mail.

I'd like to know why she ever thought she could be an MP in the first place. Quite simple really . She realised early on that there were enough people in her chosen constituency daft enough to vote for her. It happens quite frequently hence why in Shrewsbury we have the infinitely incompetent Daniel K as our MP . Hopefully not for long.

Nadine Dorries has still not formally resigned as a Tory MP.
Now what games are Dorries and Johnson playing? Johnson and Adams have put their resignations in writing, so by elections can now be called. Until Dorries submits her resignation in writing, they can't call a by election in Mid Bedfordshire.

In 2013, Dorries's daughter was reportedly among the highest-earning family members employed by MPs with a salary of £40,000–45,000 as an office manager, even though her daughter lived 96 miles away from the office. Subsequently, Dorries's sister was taken on as "senior secretary" with a salary of £30,000–35,000. In reply to an enquiry by Ben Glaze, deputy political editor of the Daily Mirror, about the employment of her daughter, Dorries tweeted: "Be seen within a mile of my daughters and I will nail your balls to the floor... using your own front teeth. Do you get that? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nadine_DorriesSo it's not just Derek Conway who did this sort of thing! I note that she was also in trouble with regards to expenses claims.

How on earth does she think she is so entitled after her unauthorised appearance on I'm a Celebrity, withdrawal of the Whip and failure to disclose the fee.

www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/jun/14/nadine-dorries-failure-to-resign-officially-as-mp-frustrates-sunaks-attempt-to-reset-toriesNadine Dorries has still not formally resigned as an MP, frustrating Rishi Sunak’s attempts to start preparing to replace her. It has been five days since the former cabinet minister announced her intention to “immediately” step down. Boris Johnson and Nigel Adams, who announced their intentions to immediately quit hours after Dorries, have both officially resigned. Until Dorries sends her official resignation to the chancellor, Jeremy Hunt, the Conservative party chief whip, Simon Hart, cannot move a motion known as a writ for byelections in Dorries’s Mid Bedfordshire seat. It is understood Hart will move the writ for byelections in Johnson’s Uxbridge and South Ruislip constituency and Adams’s Selby and Ainsty seat on Wednesday.

That was another down side of Brexit. Those Johnson removed were by and large relatively competent ministers whereas their successors are by and large the opposite.

If Sunak’s March budget tax giveaways fail to bribe enough voters, we already know that a panicked Tory party, which gave us Johnson and then Liz Truss, is capable of absolutely anything in a frantic attempt to hold on to its vanishing seats. Here’s the world they inhabit: the Sun reminds us of the insane power of the tiny Tory membership. When it comes to the free vote on the floor in the Commons on Monday, each Tory MP will have to decide for themselves whether to back the privileges committee report, or express continuing support for Johnson by rejecting it. The frightening anti-democratic threat, expressed by a senior Tory, is that any Tory MP who votes for the report “will be having some serious issues with their associations and wouldn’t be remotely surprised if they were given the boot”. So here we are in full Trump territory, where intimidation by a small group of Johnsonite Tories can terrify their MPs into backing him. www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/jun/15/snarls-smears-disgraced-boris-johnson-partygate-civil-war

Nad rumoured to be going to "unleash hell" in the Johnson debate. Hope the Speaker has her chucked out if she oversteps the mark. Supposed to be why she hasn't put in her resignation letter yet.

I can’t wait to watch her “ performance “. Will she have the bottle to go full Mad Nad , oh yes , I think so . After all she has nothing to lose . The spineless Sunak will be hiding away somewhere hoping it’ll be all over soon . I’ve got news for him, there’s lots more s**te on its way . Best to call an early GE and get it over with.

Not convinced she will resign any time soon... She loves the limelight and being a maverick.
Shame as the Lib Dems have been campaigning hard in her constituency and sence victory

No, don’t think so . She’s like a bad smell lingering around , you know the one , everyone can smell it but can’t work out where it’s coming from. Everyone knows it’s her but where is she . Until she officially resigns she should be in the House doing her bit for her constituents but like Johnson she’s disappeared . I note Goldsmith has booted Sunak over his climate credentials and that has caused Sunak to hit back, all this when he just wants everyone to understand that he’s just saved the NHS in the year 2000 and something . What a bloody shambles . Call a GE and let’s get it over with for Gods sake.

The electorate's views seem currently to be consigned to Severnaside's echo chamber. Our PM, and hence the whole set of ministers, was "elected" by a tiny proportion of the country, Conservative party members, and even then only after they had pushed the Truss armageddon button. We need a GE to put the people's mandate behind a Government.

We need a GE to put the people's mandate behind a Government. Unfortunately he doesn't even have a mandate from his own membership. It never went to the vote, so he was elected by Tory MPs. Let's be honest he was the best candidate (in a very poor field) when he went up against Truss and the Tory members rejected him in favour of the woman who went on to tank the entire economy in just 7 weeks in the top job.
To be honest if Labour had been in power for 13 years and had effed up the country to the same extent I would imagine that the right wingers on would be shouting longer and louder than any of us 'lefties' are. I would also guess that politics would have been consigned to a separate sub forum/left wing echo chamber.

Some of the most misogynistic tripe I've ever read on arguably the worst thread of all time.
"Mad Nad". "Gives decent woman MPs a bad name"
Maybe she should put some slap on, keep quiet and know her place?
I'm definitely not her biggest fan, but maybe read some of her backstory before taking aim at one of the few working-class MPs in parliament.
I've called kenwood out on his blatant sexism before, and I think some let it slide because of his age. I've reported it so we'll see what happens.
But some of the other men on here should probably know better than to attack the woman rather than the politician.

Accept, of course, that "Gives decent wimen MPs a bad name" should have read "Gives decent MPs a bad name".

Still under consideration but initial thoughts, NOT SEXISM which you reported it for. Your welcome to explain your thoughts….but remember this is a footy message board. We weren’t sure if you were referring to ‘Nadine Vanessa Dorries (née Bargery) born 21 May 1957’ or Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson; born 19 May 1964…….
