I'm with Radbrooke surgery and iv just received a text to inform me that will now be doing and online review of my health. The blurbfrom the company is saying they aim to relive pressure on surgery's by offering this service. I'm curious to hear have other surgery's started this

My wife had the same text , signed from Radbrook surgery’s online clinic . She researched the company and discovered that it is a private concern which Radbrook Green surgery are now using. There was no consultation or info.available for patients ,she was just informed that she was being moved to this online service . She had not given her consent for her data to be shared by this online service.. Today she spoke to the company who operate from an office in London stating that she was not happy with this arrangement . They apologised and informed her it was optional. This was not made clear in the original text. Questions need to be asked about passing of personal data without consent . For example what would happen if these companies fail or get bought out , how is your data protected then? More importantly why have patients not been consulted or informed of this development .

Here’s a funny thing , a minute ago I received a text from Radbrook Surgery informing me of , guess what ! My wife likewise . A bit cart before the horse in her case . Not the health service / GP service I fondly remember . I must admit it worries me somewhat .

A few years ago the surgery were giving Ng patients the option to say not having your digitalrwcords shared, this was at a time when a number of private companies wanted acsses to your health records for research .I signed the form saying I refused so they ignored my wishes. The lack of transparency is appealing .

Also considering this is is a significant change , the least they could have done is explain what therole this company will have, is this the start of moving patients with long term health problems out to a private company using the pretext of shortages of GPS

Its a new world, digitally monitoring your health from afar but enabling this company to share your personal details with whoever . It’s not right and not what patients signed up for which was face to face consultation with their GP . No doubt the practice are in receipt of financial reward from this company. Not good is it.
