not suprised at all. my wife has swoped dentists four times due to dentists not been nhs any more and now after a year her current dentist has done the same leaving her with no choice but to pay for a denplan which is £17 a month it can be higher if you have problems with your teeth.i dont know how low income familys can afford and propbably cant and may do without. i still have a nhs dentist in welshpool but over 6 years ago they were taken over by a large group. the quality of care has noticably declined, i also have a revovling door of dentists , numerous cancelled appountments are the norm. i put up with it because it is still nhs but there are rumours the group is going to be taken over so that may come to an end.

Yes, my NHS dental practice is in Heaton Moor near Stockport, and I've been with them since the late 1970s. That said, the practice has expanded, and I reckon I'm one of the few NHS patients left on their books, as most of their clients are private nowadays.

I was fortunate to register for an NHS dentist when I moved to Tarporley 6 years ago. (However, they stopped taking NHS patients not long after) and I too have had a number of dentists in that time; I have only been seen by the Principal dentist once and that was after I had raised a complaint with the practice manager. They encouraged me to move onto a denplan, which I have now recently signed up to. Dental health should be a given but sadly for many it is not the case.

We had a great NHS practice in Bishops Castle which was a satellite of one in Welshpool. When the Welshpool one was taken over two of the dentists left and took over the one in Bishop’s Caslte.
We knew when we moved that would would have to be private and so it has proved. We do have a good dentist but she has told me that they just cannot recruit NHS dentists.

I would guess so. Was it Mr. Kneale?

Me and Mrs Clash had our teeth done in Turkey a few months ago. Wonderful service and around 15% to 20% of what you would pay in the UK.
