for any people on Blue and Amber who have diesel cars the mount petrol station price of diesel is 1.45 a liter which they priced at same price as there petrol normaly diesel is 15p or more a liter then petrol . it seems to have an impact as the number of vans at the garage has gone up.

German car owners were also srewed when the bought the cars with the emmisions scandel.
Toyotas, renowned for reiability in petrol form are to be avoided in diesel. The word seems to be that car diesel engines are just too full of turbos ad gizmos. But then, so are these turbo boosted tiny petrol engines, give me a normally aspirated petrol engine for a standard car every time.

Been over to Sbury today, good to see the garages there are making less of a rip off than the garages in Telford..... 😡
But driving an 80 ltr Transit van the best value is Roberts fuels at Grindley Brook. Filled up there at 139.9 10 days ago, and will be going back again next week to fill up. Latest price I've seen there is 136.9. It's cheaper than the petrol, which is the way it should be.
If small independent garages can sell at that sort of cost you can be sure the supermarkets and the likes of Shell and Esso are screwing a fortune out of their customers, robbin barstards. The government must be loving it too.

Two fuel stations in Oswestry, (I don’t count the one in Mile End as it’s always a rip off) both seem stuck at 162.8p for diesel, ridiculous price……

how munch are other things at the garage in comparison to Tesco ? No idea, I only buy petrol at the petrol station, groceries at the grocery store ( though I do buy the M&S Wholemeal bread you recommended (85p) at the BP station, but I don't buy petrol there as the car doesn't "like" BP)

The problem is that all the garages know that pretty much all vehicles (except electric which is still only a small percentage thanks to the initial cost of buying one) need fuel. So they all try to outdo each other by selling at a "competitive" price.
It's not a competitive price for the end user, its competitive for the retailer. Their main thought is to sell it as high as possible without losing much custom. So the price remains high.
I reckon I save about £15 driving from Telford to Grindley Brook for a thankful, occasionally I do some work on the way. But the biggest satisfaction on going that far out of my way is knowing I'm not buying from someone who is trying their hardest to rip me off.

About 20 miles each way, so perhaps a gallon of fuel. I've taken that into consideration to get to about £15 saving. A diesel van will drive forever, got just less than 300,000 out of the last one before the bodywork gave up even though the mechanics would have done maybe another 100,000. I only work part time now so plenty of time to drive round and see a bit further from home than I would normally. Now the weather is getting better may take in a few hours looking round Whitchurch or Wem or go for a country walk or bike ride. I'm happy to do it, i know it's not a huge saving but it makes me feel much better paying those prices. Wouldnt do it with the wifes petrol car as the cost saving isnt there and it's only got half the size fuel tank.

Nescliffe is my go-to. Its just had a refurb and looks ace too. By far cheapest around for me.
Both the Texaco's in St Martins aren't bad for pricing either.

Just checking the price before I set off to Grindley Brook - 129.9 and 133.9 (petrol) for the Coronation weekend. 😊 Glad I checked today, was thinking of maybe going tomorrow. 26p/ltr cheaper than Asda Telford.
If youve nothing better to do on this wet bank holiday would be worth a trip out if you've got a diesel.

If I had a snack van I'd be setting it up around G Brook to cater for the trade from all you "fuel tourists"! Then fill up while I was there of course.

Noticed the Shell garage there is selling at 133.9 and 136.9. Far far cheaper than the Shell garages in and around Telford and probably most other places. Price fixing?, surely not. But I guess the one in Whitchurch would be closed due to lack of customers if they werent "competitive". Fuel prices are a complete rip off.

I'm also very wary of the governments push towards the 'new kid on the block' EVs. Was only a few years ago they were pushing towards diesel as being the way to go 😂 Wonder how long the EV fad will go before something else comes along. 🤔 Never trust a politician!

While those untrustworthy politicians are in charge EV is coming. Company tax advantages, tolls on diesel in city centres, from next year "fines" if manufacturers don't sell a certain proportion of EV, total end of diesel and petrol car production by 2030. Those politicians have swallowed the whole ev is better myth.
