Doesn't Aukus contradict this though? I guess it depends on what is meant by a 'strategic threat' but I gather that's been put together with China very much in mind.

Britain needs to strik a balance in its relationship to china, we are a small virtually irelevant island and i would imagine China sees us as weak and easily controlled. we need China more than they need us but allowing huge numbers of chinese students into universitys is a mistake, there is ample evidence to show many are spies and the rest can be controlled by the chinese communist party. it is just mad to allow them in any university that carrys out sensative research and we know that a tsunmai of intelletual rights has been stolen by china
