28 Penalty for Non-fulfilment of Fixture Obligations
28.1 Any Club failing to fulfil its fixture obligations in respect of any match under the jurisdiction of
The League on the appointed date or dates or causing the Board to suspend any fixture shall
be deemed guilty of misconduct, unless the circumstances giving rise to such failure are
outside the control of the Club and could not have been reasonably foreseen or reasonably
anticipated and remedied prior to the match. Every Club shall carry out regular and
appropriate maintenance and checks to ensure that its safety certificate is not suspended or
withdrawn.

28.2 The Club failing to fulfil its fixture or causing the Board to suspend such fixture shall be
liable to pay compensation for any expenses actually incurred by the opposing Club as a
direct result of the failure or suspension. The amount of compensation will be at the
discretion of the Board who will consider every such case on its merits. The Board may
refer the amount of compensation to be paid to the Football Disciplinary Commission
appointed under Regulation 75 dealing with the misconduct by the Club failing to fulfil its
fixture or causing the Board to suspend the same.

The most important thing there is no points deduction Did you go up Chris?

Agree - i'm happy there's no mention of points as they can't call it misconduct under 28.1 as it was cirsumstances not under the clubs control.... i reacon the compo will add up though when you think about the police, stewards, catering etc.....

Good call with 20/20 hindsight The best part of the 2 hours stuck around Stone was a rather good looking young lady in a BMW This could hit the Club in the pocket and may affect future purchase of players is the only knock on affect of today

...if they left Shrewsbury at 10:30(?) then they would have had time to sort out an alternative route to Bury, as the supporters did...

The key to all this is were the coach was stuck. If between junction 16 and 17 then they had no chance. I only found out about the crash from 5live just as I got on the M6 at junction 12 at around 1230ish, which is say 1/2 hour from the accident site? So they go to Brum to pick up players they could have been right amoungst it.
