Worryingly, Steve Cotterill currently leads the field according to Bet Victor.
Though at odds of 4/1, I'm not terribly concerned that there's anything in that.
Other front runners;
Michael Appleton 6/1 Neil Critchley 8/1 Grant McCann 8/1 Liam Manning 12/1 Danny Cowley 12/1

Why does Michael Appleton keep getting mentioned for yet another job? He's been a truly mediocre manager everywhere he's been, for years and years, yet still gets touted around every time a job comes up. He must have a very good agent.

Oxford was probably the only job he's had where he made a decent fist of it to be fair. Aside from that I'm in total agreement with you.

Him being favourite is either the bookies have said 'who is doing a decent job on a low budget....Steve Cotterill, lets throw him in the mix', or someone in Oxford has put £20 on Cotterill to be manager.

He was 4/1 favourite for the Wycombe job, even though Matt Bloomfield had already agreed in principle to take the job.

Time to up nextyears buget to keep him. I think if he goes we would have very little chance of keeping the team together for next year and have to start from scrach again. Dont think any of us really want that what ever side of the fence your on regarding playing style.

SC is being seen as an overperforming manager, hence they'll be interest. However, this is pure bookie nonsense, much like SC being favourite for the Wycombe job.

Long may he continue to be linked with other jobs because it will mean he is continuing to do well at town. Apart from being closer to his home cant think why he would even consider going to a club like Oxford who need a big rebuilding job.

Wouldn’t say that’s entirely fair. He Lincoln City who would have had a bottom 6 budget to Wembley a couple of seasons ago. They were unlucky to lose to Blackpool that day. I don’t think he’s any worse than most managers at this level.

I’m hoping Roland is a betting man and is seeing that he’s being linked with recent jobs. Tie him up to a new contract and FAST!
It’s not completely out of the question that Barton gets the boot for doing something stupid and then we’ll definitely start getting worried.

I think the Bristol Rovers fans wouldn't want SC as their manager...the man arch-rivals Bristol City to new levels a few years ago.

It would seem like an odd move given Oxford is a comparable size club and Etwve is currently 2 places outside the playoffs with his current side but I guess you never know how much money clubs are willing to throw at these things.

If SC was to move I think his most likely destination will be Cheltenham or Forest Green. Underperforming clubs close to home amd in FG case probably a decent budget.

Are Cheltenham really underperforming? I would say not. And Forest Green are surely over performing, at their highest level ever. Both likely to drop down a level towards their level at some point.
