I suggest that every MP should do a month of Rich House Poor House, living with their family* in the poorest neighbourhood in their constituency, working in a minimum wage job, prior to the re-opening of Parliament after each and every election. They would still get their MPs salary, but would have no access to it or any other funding. Maybe if they saw what life was like in the real world they might actually learn a bit of compassion.
*No Jacob, you can't bring nanny along.

I doubt they would learn anything because they would know it was only temporary. I’m afraid this bunch just really aren’t interested in anything but themselves whatever anyone might say. They are an obnoxious bunch on every front and Have been since Cameron, Osborne and Clegg.

I suggest that ministers should engage brain before speaking. You don't lecture people on the obvious, you encourage social influencers to make the turnip trendy along with with other seasonal eating ideas. You encourage supermarkets to promote seasonal eating.
You don't tell people to work harder, you make it worthwhile for employers to upskill jobs, train people into higher paid work while introducing more robots, etc. and raising Britain's sadly lacking levels of productivity. Do we need to be so frightened of mechanisation now we are short of low skill workers? Work smarter, not harder, and get paid more.

I detest Braverman because I think she is totally uncaring and dangerous . I don’t quite know how I describe my feelings toward Coffey. It’s easy to dismiss her as a fool , to call her Calamity Coffey and to ridicule her statements . Its more than that , in a way she is just as dangerous as Braverman . She is surreptitiously undermining the cause of hard working families of whatever political persuasion. Its almost as if she cannot contemplate the harm she has brought upon those less fortunate in our society , as if the problems they face are a result of their poor decision making . Coffey should not be ridiculed , it dilutes the real harm she is perpetrating upon people . Sunak would do well to dispense with her as a member of his cabinet . Her constituents would do well to dispense with her full stop.

Parliament is full of rich, greedy individuals, some are just better at pretending they care about us than others.

As have been practically every government that's ever served, you just heard less about it without the internet and social media. They were probably worse.

Yep I totally agree and I always wonder if they are like it before they get in power or whether the power and Westminster alters them.

Odious individuals , look at the back story of Shapps and Bridgen for example . Look at our own MP now and from the past , i.e. Conway . They aren’t tainted , they’ve always been the same money grabbing individuals . Not all mind , let’s be fair , there are some fine MPs in the House on both sides .
