Impossible looking at the website. Is it possible that a certain number of tickets are held back for some reason? I really hope not. Local kids football teams; there's been one if not two at every home game I've been to this season?

Yes I think you’re right, it would make sense that freebies wouldn’t be included in the ‘tickets sold’ figure.

I mean absolutely no disrespect by this but that will be at least the 7th minutes silence this season, and at least the 13th minutes silence / applause. Isn’t it getting a bit out of hand?

I think it highlights the appeal and will result in substantially more money being raised its the least we can do to help, imagine how great the gesture would be if turkey was collecting for a disaster than had happened over here I always find the roar from the crowd at the end of a impeccably observed silence makes for more of an atmosphere, especially in a packed ground

I suspect that might be a tad more difficult to accommodate compared say to switching kit supplier. I gather you'd have to organise that with the police and so it might be a no go considering how the matchday is managed and policed. But saying that, hasn't it been suggested that we don't offer cheaper tickets in the South Stand as we'd have to do the same for the away fans at the other end? If we could switch the away fans to the West Stand to allow us to charge home fans less for behind the goal then its a big thumbs up from me. I do think we ought to have cheaper tickets available for home fans to try and pack them in. I certainly think it's something worth trying. Even if it meant only seeing the Town fans moving from Block 19 and 18 to the North Stand I think it would approve the atmosphere. It will never happen. If it were a serious option then the most logical thing would be to put away fans in the East Stand but Roland wouldn't want that so it would have to be the West Stand and due to the poor design of the ground and entrances/exits then it would be a logistical nightmare for the police. Why not split the north stand, netting down the middle, a gate in the concourse, home fans travel to the west or east stands for food etc and away fans use the kiosk under the stand, and charge everyone, away fans included, less for a ticket. I'd imagine you could still have an away capacity of 800 and about the same as home fans, and for games when there's a bigger away following and we don't think we'll sell all our tickets we can move the netting.

We've averaged near 6,000 home fans most the season, if this fixture and 5 on the trot tell us anything, we're not attracting many more casual/new fans. Hopefully I'm proven wrong and we see the gate over 9,000 but I'm in doubt. The season under Hurst was a reality check for me, if you believe some people then there is a huge untapped market which would come rushing to watch Shrewsbury if we were successful. We had the best season for years and were on the verge of the Championship yet our average crowd was 6.2k Over the years I've known plenty of people who have stopped going for a variety of reasons and I suspect each of us can tell the same story. As well as attracting new fans, the club needs to think about getting old ones to come back To be fair, for those of us who suffered through the 1990's with crowds of less than 3000, the fact that we're generally doubling what we were during that period suggests to me that the new stadium, the better quality of football, and the relative success we've seen during the last 15 odd years actually HAS led to us tapping into some of that market.

Where’s ticket collection for the safe standing these days? Haven’t collected a ticket at the ground on match day for a long time and I know they’ve had different pickup points at times.

There’s a little booth by the front entrance main gates. I’d ask them first, if they don’t have it, the main ticket office will

This is for 5he Morecambe game so presume the same “Matchday collections for East and South Stands (Block 1–12) will be from the new Ticket Collection Hut just inside the main green gates after 1pm on matchday Saturday or 6pm for a midweek game.”

No I don’t think splitting this stand would work, and I wouldn’t like it to, linking up the south and west works well in big games. I’ve always said that if we wanted to accommodate more away fans then we need to keep block 1 free. If that’s not enough then we need to join the corner from block 24 to 1 👍

But if we need the money that badly or we legally have to let more in, fill inrn the corner as you say. just swop for home or away fans as needed with gates under the concourse.

Be interesting to see how the turnstiles work with a near sell out crowd. A real test with many fans not used to the system, a system that strains when under pressure. Also with many non regulars and a complete sell out in Standing Standing, important everyone’s in the right ‘space’…have to move people from mine most weeks cos groups want to stand together but don’t buy together. Not today.
Apart from that really excited with the potential for a great game and atmosphere, just hope it lives up to expectations and we can break our bad run against ‘fail’ with 4 straight defeats and only 1 win in the last 11 games hopefully todays ours 🤞

Talk of no fit strikers for us again lads.
At least the beer is good in town.
All the best lads, aside from between 3-5pm. 👍

Port Vale are a decent team so we're going to have to play well today. I want to see the midfield driving the team forward more. As always with watching the Town I don't expect to win, but always hope to win. Just want 100% commitment and effort from the team for 100 minutes.
