It certainly seems that it’s possible to fool the Shrewsbury Tory party all of the time!

Big mistake if one of the other parties comes up with a "Helen Morgan" type. Imagine if she moved over to challenge Danny...or, moved over to where she comes from, Stone, and challenged the aged Bill Cash.

Methinks a further more detailed interview with Mr Roberts about exactly what went on at that meeting might be enlightening.

Here's more on the Kawczynski re-selection meeting. Apparently the Chairman, the Treasurer and another executive officer all resigned from their posts afterwards. order-order.com/2023/01/13/resignation-meltdown-at-daniel-kawczynskis-local-association/The badly behaved Kris Murphy referred to in this article is a member of Bristol and South Gloucestershire Conservatives and has acted as an agent for them. Clearly parachuted in by the 'area', as directed by CCHQ, to override the local association. Murphy is registered as the CCHQ Area Campaign Manager for Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire.

I like Helen Morgan! I didn't vote for her, but she is my MP.
I am very poorly informed when it comes to politics...but I see her involved in literally everything here. Whereas the likes of our Daniel....I suspect he's too busy moonlighting!

There is a sharp contrast to an MP who has her finger on the pulse is aware of local concerns and trys to do somthing about it and an MP who seems to do very little for Shrewsbury

At least some tried to do the right thing.

Helen Morgan lives in Harmer Hill and seems like she actually has a clue about the local area. I'm more than happy to vote for her, regardless of party affiliation.
Wondering if the Lib Dems can repeat the trick with Alex Wagner? Family live in Mountfields I think I'm right in saying?

Alex is an active Councillor who campaigns hard on local issues. Much as I would love the Lib Dems to win Shrewsbury if is a long shot. However we are probably 2 years away from the general election and a lot can happen in that time frame. I think the next set of Shropshire Council elections could be very interesting and if the Lib Dems gain seats and momentum then who knows

Labour have the history in Shrewsbury and are the closest challengers. I could see Lib Dem's being the second runners in North Shropshire but to oust DK in Shrewsbury it has to be a Labour vote.

He's pushed his luck too far this time If the Tory's had picked someone else they'd get back in . I think they are in for a rude awakening next election.

I think people will increasingly compare dynamism of Helen Morgan in standing up for her constituents in North Shropshire with the track record of the current MP in Shrewsbury and realise that it is time for a change. Clearly current polling would suggest that Labour might do well. However being in my 60s i know that a week is a long time in politics let alone 2 years. I also know that hard core Tory voters will never vote Labour, but some could be persuaded to vote for a local Lib Dem candidate. By the way who is the Labour Candidate....i have no idea

The truth is that is Labour thought they could win Shrewsbury they would have a candidate in place and Stammer would be visiting. Labour needs to re take the red wall and pick up seats in Scotland. The only Shropshire seat that Labour could realistically win is Telford and i have no doubt that central office will put resource into winning that seat
