It amuses me how they canāt give their views without ever turning hysterical or an emotional wreck, it always makes their media clips entertaining if nothing else.
I think Just Stop Oil were done to death before the sub-board, respect their right to hold an opinion and to protest, loath their actions.

It's just ridiculous, yes we need to do more, but we are doing more every year. I'm suspicious of the millions being pumped in to fund these muppets.

Iāve just read reports from people held up by them who have urgent travel needs. They are an absolutely disgusting bunch of morons and I have nothing but contempt for them.
I canāt say any more as I am so angry at their selfishness.

when they stop caner patients from getting to there appointments and ambulances with critically ill patients. they lose any public support. the police should clear htem straight away and the courts should send them to prison when they break the injuctions .an injunction is not worth the paper it is writen on when they break thwm multiple times.

Living in an oil based world economy, the Just Stop Oil people's protests are just futile. They are just ruining people's day to day lives, when there is already a movement towards cutting oil consumption - going green with renewable energy. It's the big oil companies those protesters ought to aim at, oil and gas should be supplied with minimum impact and it should be in oil companies interest (profit and a future) to be getting greener and investing in green energy. This programme looks at how BP evades scrutiny on burning off " dirty" gas - flaring - close to people's homes on the world's biggest oil field by making itself "chief contracter".
Maybe the Just Stop Oil people should support Greenpeace - they seem to have a more mature attitude and experience with regard to seeking change?

So just what should they do to get the country / world to wake up and take action. Weāre almost in last chance saloon with leaders talking the talk but very little effective action. Easy to condemn them again and again, maybe rightly but the World still needs to wake up.
Is everyone really happy with the progress being made? What should activists to your get the message across and change the speed at which weāre changing?
Were at COP 27 now, have ll the targets from the previous 26 been met?

No of course people arenāt happy but stopping people from getting to hospitals for treatment or visiting friends and relations who are in hospital is unforgivable. Let alone other reasons people need to be on the roads.
We, of all people on this board today, should be really well aware of people needing treatment and having their families near them when they are ill.
As someone else has said - target the ultra profit making companies. As much as we would like it we cannot change overnight.
These people are the most selfish, pig ignorant, types of human beings on the planet just at the moment.

Absolutely unforgivable

Its not changing overnight weāre 27 years into COPās with little action. Iām not agreeing with there actions but the current plans donāt seem to be working, but thought it better to debate what they should be doing than repeating how awful they are. Can we really trust politicians to act and? They just seem to be talking.

Iām not happy no - in times of an energy crisis alongside other spiralling costs and tax rises, we should be utilising the North Sea more not less in the short term!! We should not give in to the loud minority whilst the silent majority abhor their actions and wants cheaper energy

I agree that no one should be able to stop people going about urgent business. I certainly had a great friend who couldnāt get to her cancer treatment due to train strikes.
The only thing I will say is that train drivers, NHS staff, etc., have at least gone through a legal process before striking - even if I donāt agree with it.
The Oil people have no such legal procedure they are just an obnoxious, publicity seeking rabble demanding something that cannot possibly happen overnight whilst causing great distress to their fellow citizens.
They should be locked up and the keys thrown away.

Financially, that's how you change things. Cost of public transport down, but sadly, cost of private motoring up. Grants for insuation, help to buy solar panels, probably,if the trial works, smart meter charging to encourage off peak electric use. Company wise, green incentives, more profit for oil producers and energy using companies by embracing green energy.
As for the protesters, just join Greenpeace and do it properly.

Progress is being made... ...but it is has to be done responsibly because if you don't then you will end up with the very situation these activists warn us about. And its laughable if they think this will have any impact beyond the UK. Anyhow, I think it is good that this is started to be highlighted too... Group likened to a cultWe were given an inkling of this sort in that Andrew Neil interview with Zion Lights; they are scaring kids with talk of the world ending in 12 years, saying billions will die, telling children they have no future, that they are the last generation etc. Is it any wonder this is the end result, that girl up on the gantry not only comes across as hysterical but unhinged. This is cult like. From the article... āThe breakdown of the climate is destroying the economy. It will destroy your job, your family, this community, this town. It will lead to slaughter, war and mass starvation.
āIt will be the biggest disaster in history. You can sit around and just let it happen or you can take responsibility to protect those you love.ā
In a video posted online, Roger Hallam, who is accused of being one of the organisers of Just Stop Oil, gave an extraordinary prediction of the impact of climate change claiming it would result in rape and violence.
He said: āWhat will happen is that a group of young men will come into your home, they take your girlfriend, they take your mother, they put her onto the table and they gang rape her in front of you and then after that they take a hot stick and they poke out your eyes and they blind you that is the reality of the annihilation project that you face.ā
Imagine what this is doing to young minds. This is grooming.

Just Stop Oil have kicked off two weeks of promised action in the run-up to Christmas by slowing traffic in Shepherd's Bush.
A group of demonstrators were filmed slowly walking in front of vehicles on a busy road in the West London neighbourhood flanked by more than a dozen Metropolitan Police officers.
They are carrying banners and can be heard chanting: "We are Just Stop Oil. We are more scared of the climate crisis than the cost of living crisis."
Daily Telegraph.
There seem to be more police than protesters, but they are still allowing them to continue to block the traffic.
