Looks like his campaign promises were as far away from reality as Truss's. What they'll say to get elected! www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/nov/02/rishi-sunak-to-ditch-key-tory-leadership-campaign-pledgesSunak is to ditch key Tory leadership campaign pledges. He is likely to abandon promises on immigration, greenbelt protection, charging patients for missing GP appointments, cutting the basic rate of income tax from 20p to 16p by the end of the next parliament and reviewing and repealing all retained EU law within 100 days. Earlier, in the Commons, Sunak had refused to say whether he would stick to the manifesto pledge on the pensions triple lock.

www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/nov/02/unremembering-rishi-retunes-his-songbook-for-the-tory-multiverseRish! now declared he was immune from any further U-turns because he’d never meant any of his former promises in the first place. Any connection between what he might have said and what he might now say at some time in the future would be entirely coincidental. Sooner or later Sunak is going to come to the conclusion that there may be better ways of spending his Wednesday lunchtimes than defending his home secretary. But for now he’s honouring the grubby deal that got him elected as leader of the party and is struggling to find more imaginative ways of saying she’s not just useless but a political liability with it.

Promises count for nothing, decisions count for nothing. What a con it all is.
At least Truss tried to do what she said....how naive of her.

It's poor, at this poor we effectively have an unelected government, there's no policy.
I really have nobody to vote for next time round as it stands.

I assume these are the promises from his first leadership campaign to replace Johnson and not the one to replace Truss a couple of months later. Because there was nothing public from him second time round. Not Penny Mordaunt, nor Boris Johnson. It really should’ve been a general election.
