That subbuteo team is available at £15.99 and £1 postage and packaging - although flat bottoms is tantamount to cheating in my book.

Thats a bit of a rose-tinted view Dunc. I reckon JQ has put your club back at least 2 years.
He may have got short-term success (relatively), but at what cost?
Its great that you're defending the bloke, very admirable, but (as I have said many times), I have just inflated a balloon downstairs that could have done at least as good a job as JQ did.
Getting promotion last year with JQ could well be a major stumbling block for the club in the longer term, its left GP with a massive task and one which isn't going to be completed in a season.

Don't & can't understand how you can say...... Getting promotion last year with JQ could well be a major stumbling block for the club in the longer term Who wouldn't want promotion and to try and move forward ? Lets revervse the roles if MJ was still at telford and scr@ped promotion would that be a backward step also ! i guess you would have preferred to stay in the conf then ? And for the record i've never really defended JQ in anyway blueandamber.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1103908781

I think SNFC's position was fully explained in his article a few months ago.
For my part, his brand of "football" was always going to spell trouble for us in this league. The defence of The QuinnReaper is that he signed Conference players to get us out of the Conference at the first attempt - in which case why give them a contract until the end of this season?
The man was a paper tiger. Talked a good game but in the end was clueless.

Well Dunc,
We are 2 clubs in totally different positions.
Had MJ got Telford promoted last season, it would have been a good move, because it would have been something never done before and have taken us to a new level with (probably) better players than we ever had. Levels of interest would have been greater and it would have been great for the CLUB.
JQ got you promoted with a team not capable of competing at league level, with a result that gates will drop this season and you may end up in a relegation fight again. To be honest, whether or not you got promoted you have a squad now which is probably the worst I can remember at STFC and I take no pleasure from saying that.
In your instance, 2 seasons in the conference with a forward-thinking manager would have been much better for STFC as a club (not a team - please differentiate) than an immediate return under Quinn

Fact is JQ takes praise for getting us out of the conf ! although the players on the pitch did a job whether we were lucky or not.
If MJ got you promoted it would have been the same as JQ & STFC ?
I would swap a struggle in the league two than an easy ride or a thereabouts position in the conf anyday. F/ball league means cash & television publicity
