Glad to see Town players in the Star this week making appearances with the public. Darren Tinson, Joe Hart, Ben Smith and Ross Stephens out and about. Spreads the support for the team to a wider audience. Well done STFC

I agree Dadio, this type of engagement with the wider public as been lacking in the past and yet it's vital for a club this size. I personnaly would like to see it written into contracts (don't know if it is already) that players must committ to so many community hours per month, especially with school's and the county youth services. They should also take with them a greta wedge of complimentary tickets to get the young ones interested.

There was a letter in the Chronicle thanking Mossy and Sammy for going to a school or junior teams Xmas do. It was very complimentary, makes a nice change

One hour of a players time can have a psitive effect on hundreds of local youngsters
If we are a community club then stuff like this has to be the way forward

it is part of their contracts through the pfa that a certain amount of time is put over to community things. it's more down to the club to arrange things..
theres a lot they do that doesn't get publicised.

Cheer's whitters . I did wonder if there was a comittment already accounted for, perhaps the publicity side of the work needs addressing then. The players need to be seen to be doing their bit.

It does have a big effect players going into schools. Had a young Reading player come to my Primary School always kept an eye out for how he is doing. Young lad by the name of Gary Peters

Whitters, is there a chance that you could post on here where players are going to be appearing, helping out etc. We could then keep others informed and maybe increase the support for those events. Also it would make all of us on here more sympathetic to the players as people not just footballers.

So the impression i get from that is that they only do it because its in there contract to do it. Would they do it if they weren't contractually obliged to !

FitC is important. We're aprt of the community and should support it more.
