I went with the crowd from Billinge, Wigan, to Liverpool Cathedral. It was broadcast in November. It's on at 11:15pm on ITV! Quite a few well-known people- Russell Watson, singer, Katherine Jenkins, singer. David Bellamy, the three girls from the X-Factor- who were kicked off, but were good. Charlie Landsborough- country and western type singer. (Mr Wiggy likes him, because he's from Birkenhead- and probably supports Tranmere!! I'm standing next to a young woman called Lynn- who's a lot taller than I am- and was wearing a rather low-cut blouse which, since she's well-endowed in the chest department, she began to feel self-concious about and kept pulling her jacket round her!! The woman next to me on the other side is even shorter than I am- so we down down in "stairs"!! (I'm uncharacteristically demure in a posh long dress, black jacket and a floaty scarf thing.) We were there from 6:30 until 11:30. From 8pm- we weren't allowed to go to the loo unless we were deserate- and then we had to discreetly put our hands up like kids in school. Interesting experience- you'd never believe the number of re-takes they do. Anyone else done a tele-type thing?

I was on Morning Worship (or something similar) at the age of 4 - wearing long white socks and pigtails. Lovely. My Mum and Dad still have the video - it had to be converted from Betamax!!!!

Was in a Desmond Morris documentary in the 1980's about football supporters and how they interacted during an away game.
That was very staged too. We all had to "arrive" at the coach in groups, talking to each other - like you do! It was also 3 hours earlier than we would have done, and we all then got put in a pub with free booze and food for an hour and a half before the game.
I think they also picked the away game on purpose to try and get some "action" - it was Oxford away (now there's a sign of how things have changed!).

As well as featuring in the above programme - together with Mrs Soupie and daughter Sian (Welsh Shrew was too yooung and had to stay at home with Grandad ), I've also starred in a couple of church services broadcast from Tenby in the early '70s. Another story you may (or may not ) like goes as follows:- In my early police service in the late '60s, whilst stationed in Llandrindod Wells, there had been a report of a man missing in the Elan Valley above Rhayader overnight, so a team was called out to make a search of the area commencing at around 6.00am. By the time we arrived at the location, the gentleman had been located safe and sound, but who turned up at the same time as us was the local HTV cameraman. Having got up at an unearthly hour and not wanting to be done out of a story (and presumably his fee), he organised all of us to spread out in a line and do an imaginary sweep of the area, which he then proceeded to film and show on the news for the rest of the day. Talk about stage managed and poetic licence!

i was at the front on top of the pops pretending to really 'get down' to jamaioqui (sp) a couple of years ago. That show is a bloody fake - half of the artists aren't there and you're just like a preforming monkey pretending to whoop and cheer as the presenter (Richard Blackwood in my case) does a link to an empty stage - they then insert footage taken from a few weeks ago when the artist will have performed their song a few times in different outfits!! We had to do a link to an empty stage which would have been Kylie!!! Also been on on Later with Jools Holland next to Manson which was a lot better
