Does anyone actually ever work there between the hours of 10-2? Nobody ever answers the phone. This has been the case today and last Friday. I emailed the ticket office on Thursday and received no reply.
Ended up having to ring reception today and now waiting for a call back.
We're a 3rd tier club and perform like a part-time club off the pitch. Actually I'd imagine most non league teams have people answering the phone as they want people to buy tickets.

Does remind you of a business winding down for closure rather than a third division football team worth eight figures.

The trouble is that I suspect there is only Martin there most of the time and no one who sits at the back of the office gets up and answers the phone. I’ve stood in the queue and watched them just sit there.
One of the first things I was taught as an office person was ALWAYS answer the phone even if you can’t help at least the customer knows there is someone there who can at least explain that the ticket office is busy, take a number or a message, and organise a call back. I was once told that the only person who ‘mucks in’ inevitably is Sib.
It makes me really cross.

Perhaps they need some ticket office sponsors. Is there a Marie Celeste society?

I don't want to tweet them, I want to speak to them. On another note, I popped to the club shop before the game yesterday and was one of about ten people in there. I heard one of the workers say to some sort of guard on the door 'don't let anyone else in'. Clearly ten is the maximum. So poor. A world away from even the likes of Lincoln who have a club shop at least twice the size. The guy guarding the club shop door could have gone to the ticket office to help clear the long queue which had somehow built up despite there only being less than 3000 there. The club needs a kick up the backside.

I’ve had very good responses to emails but also have had some that haven’t been replied to.
I don’t want to Twitter either much prefer something personal and these days there should be the choice.
If people have time to Twitter then there’s time to answer the phone.

If people have time to Twitter then there’s time to answer the phone. Or at the very least have a system that takes a message if no one answers or gets answered by a different extension. Nothing worse than ringing for a few minutes then bleeeeep cut if no explanation.

Absolutely.
Davy I think you have been posting that you’ve been contacting ticket offices elsewhere. Out of interest did you get straight through ?

Absolutely. Davy I think you have been posting that you’ve been contacting ticket offices elsewhere. Out of interest did you get straight through ? We’ll I didn’t give up. After tying the ticket office number I tried the receptionist but again no answer. I got up-to option 4 (accounts) until someone answered who then put me straight through to Martin. Only one option allowed you to leave a message so the system would allow if turned on Commercial option 3 I think.

about 10-15 years ago I remember trying for ages to get a response from telford town centre ( I had a complaint ), they wouldn't answer calls, didn't reply to emails despite trying many times
I then emailed them using a different email address saying I wanted to thank them in person after a trip to the town centre that I found truly fantastic, within 2 minutes I had a phone call from them, gotcha I said, doubly whammy ;-)

Had a thought I’d get my Burnley tickets on Saturday… then remembered they’re not open Saturday unless it’s a home game… looked at the ticketing website, they’re not on sale despite ticket details being announced over 24 hours ago… why? Looked at ticket office opening times again and it simply says: Monday to Friday : 10am - 2:30pm Nothing about Saturday before a home game even. What’s going on? www.shrewsburytown.com/tickets/opening-hours/I personally would like us to be open on Saturdays to help people in full time jobs as this is simply impossible to get to the ticket office.

Finally had my query from last week sorted out by the receptionist as I had no response from the ticket office. Only 7 attempts to sort out.
The same receptionist told me that a grand total of 1 person is in the ticket office Monday to Friday and they deal with the window. Phone calls are generally ignored.
We're a 3rd tier club and this is how we deal with things. Quite astonishing.

Would rather save money in wages than gaining more in ticket sales, just sums the whole club up really but it’ll never change unless there’s a change at the very top.

I'm not going to any home games this year, sticking to my stance.
I'm doing Accy away but purely because Accy friends from Shrewsbury and I are doing a bit of a real ale tour.

It is something that certainly cannot be justified by an organisation allegedly dependent on footfall to make money.

Brainless economics.

Watch the question get raised, batted away and not really answered.
It's not the fault of Mike and the others, far from it, but the square root of **** all will happen about it.

You don’t need to pay anyone extra. Just ensure that those who do work there answer the bl……dy phones as a priority. I don’t believe they ring all the time so making it a priority is hardly going to be difficult.
Either that or farm it out to a call centre on the other side of the world like a lot of companies who can’t be bothered with their customers either.
I hate to think of the impression given to away supporters if they try to get in touch on the ‘direct’ line to the ticket office.

Might help to if we advertise the correct ticket office opening hours on the website. Website says Monday - Friday 10-2.30pm. However there is a printed sign on the office saying Mon/Wed/Fri 10-2.30 however Tuesday and Thursday its open till 5! I needed to pick up a fan card, was working in Telford and thought would call to check if in before making journey, no one answered, so didnt bother.

lets think back about 2 years, there we were just got hammered away to peterbro after outplaying them for most of the first half before committing hari-kari , the overwhelming opinion was spend as much as it costs to get rid of the manager. poor old me tried in vain to say things will only get worse if we do , more so off the pitch than on it, although you could argue both are worse ( some suggested getting gavin Cowan in) I actually think he’s done ok at Telford, given they were swirling ever closer to total obscurity when he arrived and now they’re reliably mid-top half of table. Full time management would obviously be a completely different kettle of fish, but stranger things have happened. Surely well known to Roland as an ex player too.... what a fantastic idea lets give to job to the telford manager or a random player, perhaps we can lay of sib, whitters and a few more to pay for it, but hey keep burgoyne, pierre and vela who between them self imploded today but either way lets spend some serious money next week sacking and laying off staff

Next 9 matches 14 points so a good turn around…. 👍

League 2 football would be bearable as long as somebody could answer the ticket office phone 😂
