I'm one of those who has drifted away which I would never have thought possible, been going to Town games since the late 70's and a season ticket holder for over 20 years, in probably 2018 i wanted to move my seat and emailed the club several times asking for this at the early bird stage, I still await their reply, I haven't been to a home game since and very few away, the final nail in the coffin was the way I was spoken to at the ticket office whilst purchasing a ticket. Myself and 2 son's haven't been back since. I now follow local football which I really enjoy. I’ll never forget in 2018 when I was buying several tickets for several away games in one go, and was spoken too as if I was a pain in the ass and an inconvenience. I found it funny. Can understand others getting p**sed off with it A friend of mine had a similar experience when trying to buy tickets for Forest Green. He said the person he spoke to was very rude.

coleys.co.uk/It would be good if Smithys and the restaurant at the ground could be given an online presence, even if just a page on the website Yes found that really looks good and well advertised…. Certainly some ideas although a bit different being pitchside within the stadium. Smithy’s on match day should be an improvement with easier service and sky sports etc with the fanzone next to it, certainly improving which is a positive hopefully…..big question is making it somewhere fans and locals want to use on non match days what do fans want? What do locals want? One thing I also noticed on Coleys site was the reviews with one highlighting £3.50 a pint Surely ours isn't £4.90 a pint, I'm hoping it was a dodgy rumour, if not it's a near 23% increase on last season.

Depends what you have, pretty sure San Miguel is, Carlsberg a bit cheaper. Don’t remember a Shipyard in the concourse being overly expensive, but maybe I’m just sanatized now… £7 a pint at Edgbaston, £6 Old Trafford, most bars in town now £5 a pint…

Oh yeah, forgot that only works one way.

I'm used to paying £3.60 for pint of Ludlow Gold, and £3.80 for a Three Tuns XXX, so you'll have to excuse me giving Smithy's a wide berth.

Yes still possible to get a pint of ale for £3.60 to £3.80 in Ludlow too although there are some places where you can be robbed if you're happy with that. We're supporting the ones who don't take the p1zz of course.

I take your point on sporting venues, but a 23% rise is double that of inflation which is insane at a time of hardship for most.

I'm sure a Peroni cost me over £5 in the Peacock the other week, I was horrified! Pints in the Beacon over £5 too Yes there are still pubs where £3-4 is regular, but they're becoming fewer and far between sadly, and it's only going to get worse. Agree with your point above, Ale's don't seem to be moving as much as lager - luckily I like both!

I can sort of understand the price of Peroni as it's imported whereas the San Miguel comes from Northampton unless I'm mistaken. I shudder to think how much a bottle of Alhambra 1925 would be in Shrewsbury if you could get it☹️

Like a lot of things, it depends on what you order and where. Order a premium lager (Peroni/Morretti) or a craft ale (Brewdog/Beavertown) then you'll be looking minimum £4 and probably £5+ in some of more of your swankier bars. However order a cheaper lager or a more traditional ale and you can easily get a pint for under £4
I'm quite lucky that living in Belle Vue there's still a good choice of pubs nearby and at a decent price too

Later on that day the same round cost double that at a sports venue, and also in a chain bar in the city
