It really is very bad. Has the new media person started yet? He’s got a lot to ‘mediate’ on that’s for sure.

Questions for SPM 6 sept 1. Can accurate and clear instructions be provided on how to obtain a ticket for a registered family member and allocate the points. On trying to purchase a family member a ticket for cup game I could not pay for the ticket with my card because ‘ name on card ‘ was not requested therefore it would not have been processed. At what point during the ordering do you assign to the family member?
2. This new community club (£5 a month and get benefits). Is this community club instead of or in addition to super blues? Do the club members have preference over season ticket holders when purchasing cup tickets? 3 why have the new tickets been changed to a flimsy cardboard ticket that will easily get worn/damaged. It’s says that if card is damaged to st holder will have to pay, so surely you should provide a ticket that is sturdy and less likely to get damaged.

I guess if fans don't feel that they are being kept up to date with club news then we need to consider how fans are getting their news and whether that could be incorporated into the clubs messaging. Perhaps email. Pretty sure there was a mailing list for club news in the past but not sure whether its still going and if so, just how much it is used by the club. Then of course the question is whether email is something a lot of fans who aren't on social media use... I get all my news regarding the club off here.

Are there plans for further Umbro retro kits? The white away one with blue diamonds down the arms would be popular in my opinion.

A £5 donation to join the community club provides monthly updates, invitations to exclusive opportunities for match day vouchers, early bird access to all events, first look at video content, seasonal giveaways. The money raised will help to create, develop and fund programmes that change the lives of people within our community, That was published in match day programme but it doesn’ t say how to join.
I am a super blues member and I thought my donation to that was for helping the community, but not with all those ‘ benefits’
Club issue notices but never quite give all the details, so all confusing.

And for the most part its a pretty decent source. But then we know with the amount of comings and goings we see here B&A isn't for everyone. And if it is just Town you're interested in it can be difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff. I guess with the number of ways people look to keep updated these days it would be difficult for the club to find a one stop shop to satisfy everyone but I think they would be open to any suggestions put their way.

Can you ask why our social media is beyond inadequate (especially the clubs Twitter page) for a professional football club, please.
During kick off to the final whistle in games so far, this has been our interactions with regards to chances, subs, attendances, etc…
Morecambe vs Shrewsbury Shrewsbury 12 posts Morecambe 31 posts
Shrewsbury vs Accrington Shrewsbury 18 posts Accrington 21
Shrewsbury vs Carlisle Shrewsbury 23 posts Carlisle 56 posts
Wycombe vs Shrewsbury Shrewsbury 20 posts Wycombe 38
Really doing my head in when I’m trying to keep up with the game via social media now that Lewis Cox has left. It’s beyond tinpot for a club at our level doing next to no updates on chances as the game progresses.
Cheers!

Agree with the above, the new lad from the Star has a good writing style but doesn't post as frequently it feels?

Agree with the above, the new lad from the Star has a good writing style but doesn't post as frequently it feels? Has he even started? He tweeted last month he was coming here but I haven't seen anything from the club Continuing the feedback/whinge about our online presence, we had a good win on Saturday and tomorrow face a newly relegated side from the Championship who have sold out the away end. Maybe it's just me but I would have thought that there might have been a push on the website/facebook/twitter for tomorrow's game, instead there's one article which is the standard pre match interview with SC. If nothing else, can we give the Ticket Office Twitter feed to someone who actually wants to promote tickets (the last game they actively provided any ticket details/updates was the first game of the season at Morecambe).

ssshrew Avatar 16 minutes ago ssshrew said: Still it’s good to learn that fans will be kept up to date through the club’s on line channels.
Does this mean Twitter? Or does it include the website?
If the former, can someone SLOs please tell them that we don’t all want access to it and can they PLEASE remember this if they want to keep in touch with all fans.
Quote: A good point for the next SP meeting.
This is a copy of my post in the ticketing debacle thread plus a reply from another poster.
Please add this to the list of questions about Twitter and the main site.

(Probably not directly the club's fault)
Can we look into provision for away games allocation and communication with away clubs? It might just be poor luck that we've had two of the few away grounds with terraces in our early games, but it's ridiculous that we've had to tolerate being shunted to inferior parts of the ground while paying the same entry fee.

Club Statement | New Ticketing/Access Control System refers.
You state:
"...what can be done to encourage fans to enter the stadium earlier..."
What initial ideas do you have please in respect of the above?

A subject that I've already raised on here. What is the current situation with regard to squad sizes? This is what it says on the EFL website, but other sites suggest otherwise and state we are restricted to 20. Are goalkeepers included in the numbers? EFL Regulations Season 2022/23 44.9 Squad Lists. 44.9.1 Clubs shall be permitted to name up to a maximum number of Players in their Squad List based on the following provisions: (a) in respect of Championship Clubs, 25 Players of which a minimum of 8 must be a Home Grown Player; and (b) in respect of League One and Two Clubs 22 Players of which a minimum of 8 must be a Home Grown Player. 44.9.2 The following Players do not need to be included in the Squad List to be eligible to play in League Matches: (a) in respect of Championship Clubs, any Under 21 Player (save for any Under 21 Player who is registered with the Club on a Temporary Loan Transfer); and (b) in respect of League One Clubs and League Two Clubs: (i) any Under 21 Players; and (ii) goalkeepers. www.efl.com/-more/governance/efl-rules--regulations/efl-regulations/UEFA defines locally-trained or 'homegrown' players as those who, regardless of their nationality, have been trained by their club or by another club in the same national association for at least three years between the ages of 15 and 21.

Is there any news on the new town center bus? It was always well used by home and away fans. Why can the gate on to the foot path to Sainsburys not be by the South stand? Its a real crush after some games and seams silly when you could go more or less straight to the underpass.

What was the reasoning behind the pitch size changing? I understand this might be a 'footballing' question, can I ask if it was SC and his reasoning if poss.

Is the income from Smithy’s Bar and the Fanzone included in STFC’s turnover or STITC’s.

Can you set out what the clear ambitions are for the club - is it purely survival or at some point to push on?
Do you believe that we have wasted the opportunity to push on from the Hurst season? We seem to have stagnated since then and there is a distinct lack of entertainment on the pitch. What is this down to?
Are there any plans for pre match and half time entertainment? There currently is nothing. Kicking a ball at a shed or an empty goal barely passes for entertainment.
What is being done to entice those moving to the area to come and support Salop?
Is there any update on the position of the chairman? Is it his intention to continue in post or is he considering handing over the reigns at any point soon?
What plans are in place to increase revenue streams into the club? More turnover would impact the playing budget, so seems that we should be maximising this?
The seats in the ground are looking extremely faded and and worn. Is there any plan to renovate these anytime soon?
Have the club looked into solar energy? Surely there is scope for panels on the stand roof (weight bearing allowing?)
Is the size of the squad acceptable?? Many supporters can see the potential for struggle again as we are so short on numbers.
We struggled for numbers last season yet we are currently operating with three players less this season. Is that acceptable when we are struggling to fill a matchday squad?
How has the playing budget increased since the ground move and how does the club intend to increase it further?
Whose idea was it to issue a statement shifting blame on to the fans for struggling to enter the ground v Derby?? Do the club realise that these people are the lifeblood of the club and it is not wise to drive a wedge between the club and those that pump money into it?
Why is there such a lack of dialogue between the club and supporters?

Should we not charge away fans the same as what we have to pay to visit their grounds?

How much did it cost to send the squad and staff to Spain?
Would that money have not been more beneficial being put towards the squad?
Do you think the Spain trip has proven successful? We are short on numbers and have not set the world alight in the early stages of the season. What did we actually benefit from going?
Why did we discard the likes of Whalley and Daniels leaving us short on numbers?
Is it correct that Daniels was offered a higher wage at a club in the Welsh League? If so, is that not a worry that we are outbid by a non league club?
Due to their good nature and good work, does the club exploit the services of Roger and Mike?? It appears from the outside when fans want something doing or suggest improvements that can be made, it is then down to the fans to get it funded and sorted - usually in large parts thanks to Roger and Mike. Should the club not play a larger part in organising these activities??
Why do we bo longer have open days prior to the season?
Is this not a great opportunity to get the fan base on side and let the youngsters meet their sporting heroes?? Also creating revenue for the club at the same time.
Are the supporters viewed as an integral part of the club or more of a hindrance??
With the cost of living crisis hitting everyone in the pocket, have the club got any plans for any initiatives to help get people to games?? It would appear that clubs like Morecambe are offering incentives, can we be equally forward thinking??

These are the questions that people want answers to. They are not difficult or confrontational (although I can see your point), and it leaves the club open to criticism by not answering them or worse still, avoiding them altogether!! I guess at the end of it, The club will be judged on actions rather than words

The open day was something I was going to ask.
Such a shame it's vanished, fully understood with Covid but what harm would it be to tie it in with a home friendly game?
Even if kick it off late (probably better in the Summer) to get changing rooms etc ready?

Little bit confused.. most of the questions were addressed by the SLO update, also in that video they said Brian will be doing update videos, so what is going to be discussed at the supporters parliament.. stuff that’s already been covered.
Also , not knocking the slo’s.. but a lot of the points made in the video had responses of, “that’s something that needs looking at..” But with no real clear explanation or plan. Absolutely not having a dig at the slo’s, but I do feel the club are exploiting them, to avoid themselves fronting upto , what will be within a couple of weeks some pretty p**sed off supporters.

How far do you want us to go? Our job (loosely put) is to be the conduit of the fans, which we do, I think
We don’t sit on the board or work for the club so that’s all we can do! All the additional stuff we do like helping with kits, sitting on the safety groups etc is done because we are fans and so (I hope) know what the feeling is in the fan base and there are certain things we can do that can make a difference, but there’s also a lot we can’t. It’s frustrating, increasingly at the moment as so much is going on which we are almost ready to put to bed but until things are signed off by the club we can’t say much more.
The SP is vital! I’d encourage as many as possible to come along and have a chat, have your say and throw ideas around, it’s so so important for us to know what all demographics of our fans want then we can work on achieving that

We most definitely do need a bus from the town centre (via Shirehall) to the ground. It was always quite well used. Full to the doors on the return journey. I always thought that the club subsidised the supporters buses, so how can they lose money ? Or are they not subsidised ?
