Got nothing to do with it Everton keepers since Southall with the exception of Tim Howard and Pickford have been poor to average at best. You don’t think Arsenal Fans with think Aaron Ramsdale’s better and Everton Pickford?

I think Godfrey was the star of the show personally. Of the loans certainly. He would have been the hardest to replace in that team. Look at the town team now - I'd say Marosi is on par with Henderson but we haven't a player anything like Godfrey since he left. A 2017/18 Godfrey would be a dramatic effect on the squad now Marosi is a decent L1 keeper and it's nice to have him permanently. To suggest he's anything like the quality of Henderson, even at the young age we had him, is a hell of a stretch though. I think Pilch is probably correct when he says he was responsible for winning us 20 points or so that season, and was probably the difference between us being play-off contenders and a team that came so close to going up automatically. Even on that horrible day at Wembley he saved a penalty and produced one of the best saves I've ever seen live to take us to extra time. There's absolutely no doubt who the winners would have been if John-Lewis had tracked his man and we'd taken it to penalties.

Pickford has the edge with his distribution as well. Sure there will be a time when Pickford form will deteriorate but with the World Cup so close that would not be ideal for England.

However England are in a good position with Pope in reserve should he be needed. I think Ramsdale is third choice….Deano has not had a good week in the sticks for Forest so can’t see him going to the WC but I am sure his time will come in the future. As a side note I think Marosi could play at PL standard and probably will…..
