What on earth are these jokers on??
Do they not know that there is a large population in Telford and it's surrounds?

The place is always heaving no matter what time of day you end up having to go. A 4 hour wait just to be assessed is doing well, it's often much longer.
And everywhere you look in Telford they are building thousands of more houses.
They just dont live on the same planet as the rest of us.

After reading the original report, it seems that logic behind it is that almost anywhere in Telford is within 20 minutes drive of either RSH or New Cross in Wolverhampton. Both SY and TF should have full hospital services, but costs prohibit this. The option of one super hospital between our two towns would still result in people from the east and south of Telford using New Cross, due to ease of getting there.

When an emergency ambulance is despatched they are directed to a hospital which has beds. For Market Drayton, for example, this could be Telford, Stoke or Shrewsbury. For all three of those 20 minutes travel time is going to be doubtful, but Telford probably the quickest.
I expect in, say, Shifnal the choice might be Telford, New Cross or Shrewsbury. With Stafford already downgraded, I would imagine Telford is an option if Stoke is busy. Major injuries from all over would, probably, get flown to Stoke or Birmingham. So, if you take out Telford, you not only remove A&E for a huge Telford population, you also limit choices for alternative destinations for other areas.

The problem (one of them) is disagreement between The leaders at all levels (MPs and Councillors) and inability to come to an agreement is delaying any progress and the budgets getting smaller through inflation…..Shrewsburys been chosen for A&E and Telford for planned treatments so they need to just get on with it. Start another debate and another 5 years delay..

Then, close the West bound A5 carriageway, as happened yesterday after a crash?
Other areas get facilities, other areas get a well run NHS Trust. We are lacking in the whole area from South Shropshire right through to Stoke.
