It'd be a bit like calling us Shrewsbury United. It is a bit poor..

The blue and amber twitter page was claiming no Town fan refers to the club as 'The Shrews' the other day and I've seen other people vehemently refute that point in the past as well.
Not entirely sure why, never bothered me personally.
I suppose the suggestion is no 'true' Forest fan would call them 'Notts' as this is associated with their city rivals (though not really rivals now there's 3 divisions between them!). Much in the same way no true Manchester United fan would call themselves 'Man U' due to it historically being considered an insult aimed at them from opposition fans.
The only thing that does get my knickers in a twist with this sort of thing is when people talk about 'Bristol' or 'Sheffield' without defining which club they're talking about.

With everything going on in this country and the world, if that's what keeps them up at night they're not doing too badly, put it that way.

I'm not sure what is worse, the fact people are genuinely angry about this or the fact it ended up on the BBC site as news.
