Thanks. So would think pretty unlikely to be loaned out as it would make the extension fairly pointless. Although given the Josh Vela mix up, there could be a little ambiguity. Did Burgoyne exercise the contract extension? My guess is that it must’ve been exercised by Burgoyne as everyone else in the world of football thinks he’s awful! Well, most.

Did Burgoyne exercise the contract extension? My guess is that it must’ve been exercised by Burgoyne as everyone else in the world of football thinks he’s awful! Well, most. the whole Burgoyne arrival and stay is strange to me first we sign him when we don't need a keeper ? then we play a 38? year old when our number 1 is out ? he gets no minutes that season ? then gets a 2 year contract with a 3rd year clause ? and starts the season as number 2 ? quickly demoted to number 3 after number 1 gets injured ? gets the extra year ? now its easy to blame our previous manager but it looks to me like he did everything he possibly could to avoid playing harry at all with Harry being a local guy is someone close pulling strings up above or what ? red flag after red flag for me saying that I can actually understand us keeping him as next seasons number 2 a loanee would not come to sit on the bench marosi would want off if he's sat on the bench a decent league 1 keeper could get a gig somewhere else those 3 could all be costly so harry fits the bill this time around

Re Burgoyne and him being up to it or not - what would folks on here think if Marosi was injured for several weeks? Would it be a disaster for us or not? Just interested in views.

Too many basic errors The one at Stratford was dreadful as was the one at Crewe late in the previous season and there have been others. For such a big lad, he doesn’t dominate his area.

Well, most. now its easy to blame our previous manager but it looks to me like he did everything he possibly could to avoid playing harry at all with Harry being a local guy is someone close pulling strings up above or what ? Whilst I've disagreed with much of your defence of Ricketts, I've admired you sticking to your views. But I've got to say that one of the most entertaining things is your continual attempts to suggest that there are people in the shadows at STFC who are responsible for signing Harry.

Did Burgoyne exercise the contract extension? Yes, as I understand it someone gave him a contraxt where he had the option to extend it, without even having tohave made a certain number of appearances. Therefore, sadly, probably not really wanted by us and will be loaned out. I hope things pick up for him.

The extension was triggered by the club Has that actually been confirmed? All I read on the club website was that it had been extended. Either way, if Marosi gets injured we are screwed & our promotion push could be derailed!

Clubs are allowed to sign keepers in an emergency scenario outside of the window, so wonder if SC is holding that as a back up.

I'm sure I read somewhere that it was Harry that triggered, but that oracle of factchecked information that is the Shropshire Star ( ) seems to intimare otherwise: "No.1 Marosi and Ludlow-born Burgoyne, who had a contract extension exercised for the new season, are expected to play first and second fiddle again though Bevan will continue to provide competition on a daily basis and injury cover". So, according to that he had a contract extension exercised.

From a clubs perspective what's the point of offering a 2(+1) in the players favour compared to a 3 year deal?

And that he seems to be part of the club's plans (as second choice keeper).

I think we need 6, with a view that Pyke will be gone and Caton doesn't seem favoured. Maybe a season long loan for Caton would be beneficial.
LWB CDM CM ST CB loan cover CM loan cover
Remember there's 5x subs this season, the big boys will have 5 subs that can affect a game.

Would it be classed as an emergency loan though having a recognised second keeper available. I wouldnt class it as an emergency personally but I'm not quite sure how you plead that it actually is.

Unfortunate how Nolan's career has declined so quickly. I'm sure injuries have played their part but he was only just 26 when he left us and seemed to be moving into the best years of his career. He's ended up being released twice last season and I see Tranmere have only given him a one year contract. At least he's had a few seasons on a well paying contract with Ipswich. Still only 30 though, so a good chance to reset in League 2.
