Doc, would he be any good in league 1, that's what I'm trying to say, not really comparable to a lot of very good strikers in league 1 I couldn’t say how Palmer compares to L1 strikers because I know absolutely nothing about L1. From reading this thread, Shrews fans’ knowledge of pub football far outweighs my knowledge of L1. Long may that remain so.
Wrexham, the little horse fly on the rump of League 1 Shrewsbury fans.

You flatter yourself. It’s been that long, most Wrexham fans don’t have you on their radar one little bit, which is sad. Hopefully that will change over the next couple of years. It will liven up your season as well, though you’re used to playing clubs bigger than yourselves, so playing us might not be that big a deal.

How long is it, it's been 15 years since you played at league 2 level 😇😂

At least get your arses out of the pub league before throwing your weight around with claims like that.

What was Shrewsbury’s average gate this season?

If Wrexham’s history belonged to any other club, you’d all get rooting for us. You must drop your prejudice and see us for what we are - a sleeping giant with a glorious history deserving of promotion. Victims, that’s us

I thought we got an extra 3 points for having an average higher than some teams in Serie A. That’s against ‘pub’ teams with 20 away fans as well.

Victims, that’s us We had a poster on here about 10 years ago name of Kopthis. A Notts County fan, he was predicting winning the Premier league within a few years after coming into money and appointing Sven as manager. Look where they have fallen to now, even lower than your lot.

There has been capacity limits for a chunk the season in Serie A (Mid Jan - April) due to Covid but let’s ignore that fact, would’ve bought the average down considerably seen as only as low as 5,000 were allowed in at one point.

this seasons conference has reminded me of the season we played in it
top 2 sides were going head to head all the way and finished on 91 & 92 points
the side way back on 74 points sneaked promotion can anyone remember who ? ;-)

Why are L1 crowds so low? Standard of football or small time clubs?

Why are L1 crowds so low? Standard of football or small time clubs? You would just love to play such small clubs as Sunderland, Sheff Weds, Portsmouth and Ipswich. A few trophies win by those sides over the years.

Shrewsbury people tend to support the Wolves or the Villa as far as I can tell, which is really disappointing

Wrexham really has most of North Wales to drag folk in from so attendances should be bigger.

The catchment area was one of the boxes ticked for R&R. We do need a bigger stadium.

Scored something like 10 in 25 for Wimbledon prior to signing for us. Not a bad return in a struggling side You mean 10 in 41

A real eye sore. The new stand is promised for the 2023-24 season. Frustrating to see a 1,200 away end with less than 100 fans in it, but the home seats sold out. Pub league indeed

Kali mera!
I can't sleep. I've been pacing the balcony. Disturbed sleep. Like winning Euromillions. What a performance on Sunday? Everything going on at the club. It's crazy!
We're in with a sporting chance of the title. It didn't look that way early March. To be fair I predicted it though. Said all along it would go down to the wire.
11 points ahead. Slashed! They were already champions first week of March according to their fans! They were expecting a Guard of Honour before our game. An open top bus parade around Stockport. Civic receptions etc There's lessons to be learned here. Take nothing for granted.
We tore them apart on Sunday. Mates told me their fans were 'champions of synchronized face palm's and 'putting both hands on the heads'. A lot left early. They were fookin' devastated. They'd turned up expecting to win the league. Thunderstruck! Mate who had my seat was absolutely delirious! A classic game and atmosphere. One of the best in memory. He said their faces looks "like a fookin' horror movie". 🤦♂️😂 Many left early and sat on their coach which had been fully warmed up on a glorious day on the car park. Like stepping into a greenhouse with one window open at the front. They weren't allowed in town and were probably dehydrated before a kick of the ball. Mate said the last coach left Mold Rd 3.30 pm. Nearly 2 hours on a coach with the engine running. It was steamy windows and bare chested males pressing against the windows as they finally turned on to Mold Rd under escort. They must've felt like fookin hostages. Miles down the bypass before the aircon started working .The away trip from hell.
We're not going to be disappointed if we don't go up automatic. We've been absolutely unbelievable this season. More to come. The foundations are being laid.
If Turkey draw against 'County' on Wednesday. Our fans will throw Champagne at them next time. If we ever meet in the cup.
Said all along..... All the pressure's on 'County‘
Down to the wire 🍹
