was a free hit for us, we dont really care, playing against a recently relegated Prem team with quality all over the pitch. we know our level and what we need to improve on, you lot have been sat in this league not managing to improve much at all so its all swings and roundabouts Yes, weve "sat in this league not managing to improve much at all". You've had shall we say an interesting journey in both directions. Think overall I'd still take our journey tbh. It’s an interesting question, as when Wrexham talk about their ‘journey’, they’re probably only referring to the past three seasons and not the ten years before that battling financial issues, a crumbling stadium and p**s poor crowds down in the non league.

I’ll keep this as simple as I can:
We were a well-established League 1 club bumbling along under the ownership of a local businessman and longtime supporter Pryce Griffiths. Some fans were a little disgruntled with this bumbling along and apparent lack of ambition, and under this pressure about 20 years ago Pryce decided to sell up. Unbeknown to him, this was to a ruthless and greedy property developer/struck off solicitor called Alex Hamilton. The fans then fought tooth and nail to defeat Hamilton and a long list of those interested in acquiring the land. In amongst all this we became the first club to be deducted 10 points for entering administration and unsurprisingly saw ourselves drop down a couple of divisions. The ground WAS ‘crumbling down because no one invested a penny’. We were on our knees as a club but unlike our dear neighbours down the A483, we refused to give in. People handed over the deeds to their houses; we travelled all over the country putting pressure on those who wished to make more than a few quid by killing our club. We the supporters deserve any success coming our way.
I know other clubs’ fans don’t give a toss about all this, but please don’t think for one minute that our success over the last 3 years is all down to Rob and Ryan, or that our journey began 3 years ago.
I hear Shrews fans bleating on about Roland and how they wish he would do one. Read what happened to us and be very careful what you wish for. The similarities are there for all to see.

No one likes to see proper old-school teams like Wrexham go under. MK Dons however...👎

Blimey,..at long last common sense breaking out amongst both sets of supporters
Just as an aside I remember the Dismal Jimmy's walking from Shrewsbury and down the A49 to Dorrington to leaflet the cars parked up at an equestrian event at Colin Pooles stately home, which incidentally was in his wife's name to stop claims on it when his company Claims Direct went to the wall

Agree with points said but to say that the success isn't down to wrong and wryan is ludicrous if they didn't come along you would still be in the conference getting players from us 15 years until Holly money comes along most your fans now couldn't name one player from before they arrived

I’m sure Roland will want to do the right thing but, as you say, he’s an elderly gentleman. He’ll need monitoring by people who have the club’s interests at heart

It’s not all down to them, though. They were able to purchase a club that may not have been going up the pyramid any time soon, but off the pitch was stable. They weren’t looking to buy a basket case. That’s down to the fans.

I predicted a draw and it was massive!
We are ALL absolutely delighted over here
Celebrating like crazy people
Boltun will be up there at the business end of the season. With the other big guns. Maybe pulling away from the pack with Birmingham.
A top 7 place would be out of this world for us. Consilidation. Too successful to soon but showing we're ready to spar with the big boys.
Mullin is back in 'under a fortnight'. The transfer book is still open.
Anything can happen
We're not here to make the numbers up

I’ve just got in Helped through the door. What a result? Unbelievable! Straight to the fridge 🍺
We are ALL absolutely delirious over here 🍹 Bouncing of walls! Every Saturday and Tuesday is like Christmas! So far so good. We are showing that we can hold our own in League One. Players we have signed are being kept out of the side by great performances.
We are not celebrating winning promotion just yet. Not after 3 games. It’s when you're bottom with 0 points after 3 games you stary worrying.... Just one more game left till we cross swords in the city ⚔️
Look at us now....Look at us now 🍺

On September 7th I sadly think we will get battered, maybe time to ditch this thread? Or just ignore it? Clubs have their highs and lows, they’re on a high, we’re on a low, best things to recognise the situation and not continually fight against their good fortune. We’ve had 15+ years of fun mocking them now it’s their turn but hopefully not for long.

😮🤫 The jungle drums are beating before Fridays deadline day. We’re trying for 2 players in and 2 out.
Poolside Saturday for the Peterborough game. I’d take a point. 3 unbelievable. 0 not a disaster. And then we’ve got you lot… Welcome to hell Shruwsbury 🤛💥
