Whatever the figure, good money for a player out of contract in the summer and left to a ruddy tribunal.
He leaves less of an immediate hole in our team than someone like EBL or Udoh. I’m quite happy with this transfer it’s the lack of goal scoring assistance that still grates me that SC doesn’t believe is required. Fourth best defence already in the division, third lowest goalscorers in the division. Says everything.

If our recruitment guy had anything to do with finding Ogbeta then a very big "well done" to him - earning whatever he gets paid. Now more of them please.

Not worked out for him at all yet. Hasn't even made the match squad for any league games this season. Surely to be off to a league one club before the end of the window?

He enjoyed his time with us and has close family in town. All his friends are in Manchester. Not sure he has the best agent advising him.

He is young enough to take the hit in wages to get first team football. To hang on to his contract at Swansea would be the wrong move imo. Hopefully we have a sell on clause.

Can't see the Swansea manager lasting much longer anyhow!

The episode show's the importance of agents in the game and how they can impact a career. I remember Connor Goldson being linked with Swansea, his agent was advising him to go but he went against the advice & stayed with us as wanted to play first team football and not U23 football, it didn't turn out too badly for him. Ogbeta on the other hand followed his agent's advice and is career has gone backwards

From what I remember reading, the swansea manager didn't want Ogbeta. The signing was initiated by their director of football.

His move to Swansea has appeared to be a disaster, maybe he left us too early but it didn’t surprise me when he did leave as his agent tried to engineer a move away for him at the beginning of last season before finally leaving in the January transfer window.

Just bringing this thread back up… is Ogbeta still left out in the cold at Swansea? We could do with a LWB to enable Shipley to move back in the middle… a possible loan deal on this could be an option?

Using another loan to bring in a wing back that is defensively suspect, does not make a lot of sense to me. We already have our full quota of loans and any more would require one of the others to be left out of the match day squad, which is ok whilst DaCosta is in rehab but once he is fit there will be a problem.

I’m half expecting DaCosta to be sent back to Coventry during this window given his injury problems, we’ve certainly missed Ogbeta’s creative output if not his defensive abilities, but overall I thought he was popular here, and his move to Swansea has gone on to be a disaster for one reason or another.

His career has certainly stalled since he left us.

His career has certainly stalled since he left us. 2 sub appearances in March in the league and one start in EFL in August. Nothing since other than u21 football. Surely you'd expect he will head out on loan in this window. Although their left back Manning is expected to be sold as he has been in excellent form and is refusing a new contract.

Da Costa is on a season long loan, with the opportunity for Coventry to recall him this month if they want him back. We just can't send him back. I think he will be here for the season, understand he's out of contract with Coventry at the end of the season

Many players who were popular here has obvious flaws that fans were prepared to overlook - Grandison and Beckles spring to mind. Both entertaining going forward but always had a mistake in them when defending.

What makes people think a player whose played two games in a year is going to help us improve? He’s not even getting games in the under 21s seems to be in limbo after injury / shunned by the manager.
He does need to rediscover himself but joining half way through a season with zero match fitness doesn’t seem the answer.

Rumours reaching me that a certain football league club are eyeing up a certain member of Swansea’s wider squad.

Agreed, another example of a young player having their career ruined by an agent. We know for a fact Steve Cotterill wasn’t impressed with their conduct in the summer, agitating for a move away after only half a season.
