Seen 300k mentioned. Would be thrilled if it's that much, but presume Man City have a hefty sell on fee.
Probably better than what would have got this summer though

Also wonder whether we actually got a decent fee for Norburn in the end. Saw a quote from Peterbourough chairman saying ‘they paid a lot of money for him in the summer’. He’s been told he’s staying put!

£300,000 is all well and good but it won’t be invested back into the club. Roland’s the real winner… again.

Sad to see him go but no point in trying to hold a player back if he's got the chance to progress . Let's just hope we got a good deal out of it.
Good luck in the rest of your career NAT.

When the club is breaking even each year and RW is taking a fat wage you can moan. Until that point let's not start making out RW is anything but a great business man and Salopians

A cheap accusation that "Roland's the real winner" without a word to suggest how he "wins" from this. Is salop18 suggesting the Chairman will pocket that money? Perhaps he can explain what he means ..... This is good business - we get a fee for a player who would leave for, at best, a small tribunal fee in the summer. It would have been crazy not to do the deal at the rumoured price.

Well s**t. No doubt we knew this day was coming at some point but had rather hoped he would have spent a bit longer than he has with us. Couple that with him being in and then out and then in again I don't think we really made the most of his stay with us. Just feels as though we have missed out on something here.
Good luck to him of course but disappointed to see him go.

We sign a player for free and sell him for £300k twelve months later, not bad business really, particularly when I think he's gone backwards this season.
Saying that, its still disappointing as he's one of the few players we have with any attacking threat out wide

Saying that, its still disappointing as he's one of the few players we have with any attacking threat out wide Only 1 league assist this season and no goals. Whilst that may be his role changed somewhat and he will have been involved in build up (eg looking inside more for Leahy and Nurse) it does show a change from last season. It was pretty clear he wasn't going to sign a new deal, so taking a decent bid now makes complete sense with multiple options available in his position. In 12 months he's gone from someone who's never played a league game, to having made over 50 league starts and getting a move to a Championship club. I'd say thats pretty good going for club and player.

A shame most people never got to witness his best games for us first hand.
Are we gonna see Leahy return to LWB when he's fit or is this Bondswell the answer?

We haven’t signed a Northern Ireland international centre back just to sit on the bench. I imagine he will team up with EEL and Pennington as the three CBs leaving Nurse to return to LWB, a position that he is possibly better suited to than Ogbeta.

Of course there are other costs and missed out on match day ticket sales but I have a feeling £2m+ is still off the mark. The accounts should be out these next couple of months so we’ll see.

Did more than his job with that magnificent purple patch of goals and assists last season that was instrumental in ensuring we were still playing at this level.
Looked at that point like a player we were lucky to have permanently and wouldn't be able to hold onto for long, and that's come to pass despite his downturn in form this season. Turning a profit on a young player we've got cover for their position in after 12 months isn't the worst result in the world, could be a model worth emulating going forward.
Good luck to him, seems like a nice lad and Swansea should be a good club for him to develop at.

Disappointing but fully understandable. I suspect his agent has been working hard on this deal since the day the summer transfer window closed. I wish him all the best but can’t help thinking this move is too early for him, very hit and miss.

The Swansea scout must of only watched him at 'pool and not Crewe and Gillingham?
Thought he was poor at Crewe when I went and heard reports off people that he was poor again at the Gills.
Good luck to him; I'd imagine some of the fee will go to whoever he came from; Man City wasn't it?

Just glad your not the chairman as we’d be bankrupt by now You're jumping to conclusions and going on the attack straight away. Buying Ogbeta for 50k and selling for £300k is the exact business I keep wanting town to do, preferably with a nice sell on clause. Buy when it comes off, like it has, I want us to bank some ££, but go get another two Ogbetas with some of the money, speculate a little. Realistically, you need around 1 in 5 young signings to come off to make money. If we were told we need to recoup £2m that's fair enough, but we were explicitly told that season ticket refunds would enable the manager to "have a go". The appointment of Chris Burt would help us "jump ahead", I'm not sure either can be justified personally. We most certainly wouldn't be bankrupt if I was chairman, I can assure you.

Over that period 2 Seasons of Profit totalled £4,229,656, so the other 13 Seasons showed a Loss of £1,861,370
