It's ridiculous for the police to be involved. How do they to determine which dead people it is legal to insult?
Whether it is the 97, the war dead, Thatcher, Churchill, Hitler or Jesus it shouldn't be a crime.

This lad was outside the away turnstiles at 1.30pm singing it with his mates. That's TWO occasions proven already. I was being kind to you saying it might be the same group of lads . If that's " drivel" then I'll bow to your superior knowledge and agree with you that there were at least two groups of your fans mocking fans who died at hillsborough. You typify the stereotypical Liverpool fan so much. Arrogant, confrontational, delusional ... You're just playing the victim culture to an extreme. Practically every town fan has condemned these "fans" yet you want to go on and on about it. You're boring, like your clubs attitude and your atmosphere in your ground. And you just proved my point with your stereotypes. I looked at this site 2 years ago when we played you. All I read was weeks of moaning and slagging off of Liverpool for no reason. Same started to happen again once we were drawn together this season. You certainly like to dish it out but now your own fans have embarrassed you......you're spitting your dummy out.

You’re correct - those fans did embarrass our club. Just like your fans who sing about Munich.

I think we get the picture, someone who goes onto the opposition's message board to stir up responses for every match I expect. Best ignored. I certainly wouldn't go along with "Arrogant, confrontational, delusional " though. Admit it, Jurgen did, Liverpool got things wrong two years ago, no wonder we were wary this time. A few kids, not true fans, got it wrong this time. Best of luck to you and Liverpool for the rest of the season. Goodbye.

I think the fact that their supporters mock the Munich air disaster every time they play against Man United, and have done for about 60 years, is probably more relevant. Their own behaviour never seems to cause as much outrage as the behaviour of other fans does, however.

Your fans are the absolute disease of English football, horrendous. Time to go back to your own forum and lap up the success of a few decades ago.

All that's doing is indicating that, just like us, they have a few idiots hanging on pretending to be fans. The vast majority of Liverpool fans gave us a great big scouser welcome. And we put the wind up them with an Udoh goal, seven minutes to treasure.

Have a quiet word with your own fans pal. Find me one club that hasn’t got a few idiots amongst their fan base. You’ve read the board, we all condemn the behaviour of a few mugs, now let us hear you condemn your own. www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-fans-condemned-vile-chants-12169697.amp

I think we can all agree (for the 500th time) that those singing Hillsborough songs in Liverpool were deplorable while acknowledging at the same time that Liverpool fans are probably the biggest offenders when it comes to crass behaviour/chants.
Whether it's aeroplane gestures at United fans or waving Steaua Bucharest flags against Everton. Trashing the Man City coach. Throwing p*ss cups at United players in the stand at Anfield. Heysel obviously. The list goes on.
When they sing "We're not English, we're Scouse" I couldn't agree more. If only we could have a referendum to kick the buggers out.

Several folk getting dragged down to his level here. Best ignoring/banning the pillock rather than sling mud back, it’s not a great look given the context

Tit for tat nonsense and a race to the bottom. Dickheads exist in life, thankfully they are a minority

This thread developed so Shrewsbury Fans could post their feelings on what was in mosts opinion appalling behaviour by a group of Shrewsbury fans. Everyone’s had their say and it now seems to have developed into an anti Liverpool slagging match which wasn’t the purpose. Were locking the thread to stop it devaluing the sincere thoughts of ShrewsburyFans and Shrewsbury Towns statement to this incident. It can be unlocked if further news develops. And you all behave yourselves 😉
Start another by all means

I’m genuinely wanting to know how these orders are enforced?

Thread unlocked
I initially thought 8 years wow but it reads a total of 8 years so 2 x 4 year ban? Feel they should be named but can understand if this isn't allowed as they've not been tried but at least details of ages as my only concern is if they were kids copying adults it's a harsh ban. What about the others in the group?

Seems sensible to me. I know there's plenty of calls to name & shame, ban for life, etc. but I'm led to believe these are young lads, it's certainly not a defence of what they have done but you'd like to think some of them will grow up and realise what they did was wrong so a lifetime ban would be OTT for me.

Presume it's home games only as not a football banning order. Club quoting ongoing investigation so maybe more to come?

I’m genuinely wanting to know how these orders are enforced? Same way a driving ban is enforced I suppose , you could get away with it but chances are you’ll get caught and face worse consequences I remember one of our characters getting spotted in Torquay when on a football ban order , the fact he was even in the town at the time was enough reason for him to get arrested

I’m genuinely wanting to know how these orders are enforced? CCTV in the ground, Stewards shown pictures of those on banning orders, etc If you had a legal banning order when matches were on they had to report to a police station, not sure if that's still in place?

I think the club have it right. And I would think and hope that a brush with the law and a stadium ban will have got the message across that what they did was unacceptable and would make them think twice about doing so again.
Perhaps it might come about still if there is some additional punishment to come from the police but in the mean time, I don't see the need to name and shame. Hopefully lesson learnt as it is...
