What a shame. The pretty little prima donnas couldn’t play another 90 minutes because they needed a rest? Diddums!! They finish in may and have pretty much all of June off unless playing international football. They get paid in a week what I earn in about four years. Those are the sacrifices to make as an elite athlete, otherwise choose a different career. I wonder how many of the emergency services have asked for a winter break throughout the pandemic on a fraction of the wage?? All the premier league and it’s members are interested in is self-profligation and greed. Fans of those clubs need to have some perspective of why these monies mean so much to clubs of our size. Our Liverpool supporting friend on here would do well to remember that the amount they paid for Virgil is equal to about 5 times the value of our entire club. As for those idiots chanting about Hillsborough, I hope they are found, named, shamed and have the book thrown at them. They certainly don’t represent the STFC that I support in any way, shape or form. What a childish post bar the last paragraph. The game against the kids was a sell out. Shrews lost no money. Just don't get your point. I'm sure that if you book a 2 week holiday abroad and your boss wants you to work a day at short notice......you'd be happy to cancel! As you’re far too intellectual for us, why don’t you crack on and post on your own forum. We’re obviously beneath you. And fyi, if my boss says that my rest days or annual leave is to be cancelled, I don’t get a say in it.

I'm sure that if you book a 2 week holiday abroad and your boss wants you to work a day at short notice......you'd be happy to cancel! I shouldn't get sucked in but just to clarify something as even now Liverpool fans still get this wrong. The Premier League wanted a mid winter break, they gave some dates to the FA, the FA advised that this was the week of the 4th round replays and if they went ahead and had this break then would still be obliged to play any replay. The Premier League (backed by clubs) chose to go ahead with the break, when it came to the replays some clubs chose to play with players from the first team squad, Liverpool chose not to and instead had their break. So to use your analogy, I ask my boss for some time off, they say something is scheduled for that week so my work needs to be completed by then, if I've done it then I'm free to take the time off. I go ahead and book a holiday, however when it comes to it I haven't completed the work. I go on holiday anyway, get someone else to pick it up whilst I'm away and then if people moan at me, I blame my boss for authorising the holiday in the first place. www.heraldscotland.com/sport/uk-sport/18190418.premier-league-clubs-warned-cup-replays-fall-winter-break---fa/

Like I said, if the powers that be in my line of work decide that your rest days or annual leave are to be cancelled, they can do it.
As for SteV01,
You obviously live in the premier league bubble. Football in this country existed long before the Premier League came along, and quite frankly, you are welcome to all the corporate BS that goes with it.
I am happy supporting my little ‘tinpot’ home town club as it has meaning for me. I am proud of where I come from and am proud of the team that represents my town. (Not so of the idiots that tag themselves onto the clubs name and drag it through the mud).
Just remember, those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. What the so called Shrewsbury fans sang about Hillsborough was abhorrent, as were the songs that LFC fans have previously sung about the Munich disaster.
And as for the atmosphere at Anfield - extremely poor.

Just to catch up on a couple of points since I've been on holiday;
- Burgoyne's retweet implicated Telford fans which wasn't a particularly strong look. Although I don't think this was intentional.
- It is entirely possible to be offended by Hillsborough chants without feeling the need to over-conpensate by virtue signalling. Some tool on Facebook has advocated singing 'YNWA' at the Bolton game. Dear me.
- I dearly hope we never play Liverpool again. The state of some of these comments.

VERY rich coming from a Premier league supporter...... The sooner all the top clubs foook off to their European 'super' league the better football in England will be for those left to get on with it. Much rather see Norwich, Brighton or Burnley win the Premier league and Barnsley or Coventry win the FA Cup and the likes of Liverpool and Man City ditched out in Europe somewhere in their little circus.

I'm not condoning this in the slightest, but where's the line between banter/mildy offensive chanting and a crime?
Where does singing about Munich sit? Where does the Telford family sit? Is calling Noto and his flock sheep shaggers racism? ...

As despicable as the chants were, being offensive should absolutely not be a police matter.
Ban them, name them, shame them by all means but it's an absolute travesty that valuable resources are wasted on this kind of thing.

18 years old…this loser needs to be educated as well, rather than just arrested and banned, to understand what happened at Hillsborough and why these chants are the most shameful thing you could sing in and around Liverpool.

If this was at 1.30 outside anfield then it's a different incident to the city centre one. Might be the same lads but just shows you lot did it much more than you admit. Sad!

Sad! pal, you've had your fun, you've given, you've taken, but enough is enough, you are welcome to stay on here and post or have a bit of banter but its time to drop the attitude / accusations / name calling etc, none of us on here was involved and even if they were they would be instantly deleted and named and shamed take it or leave it

If you're walking around someplace using language like that then hardly surprising the police would get involved and I would hope they would do so. And who knows how it played out, perhaps the police did look to just put a stop to it but one of them decide to carry on or did something else to warrant arrest. As we know if was more than one who was singing it yet only one arrest by the sounds... Just to add, despite this incident I'll wager Merseyside police had one of the easiest days in their calendar on Sunday...👍

I think we have already established that there was a handful of Town fans singing this in Liverpool on Sunday. I don't think anyone is disputing that. So you're talking nonsense.

This lad was outside the away turnstiles at 1.30pm singing it with his mates. That's TWO occasions proven already. I was being kind to you saying it might be the same group of lads . If that's " drivel" then I'll bow to your superior knowledge and agree with you that there were at least two groups of your fans mocking fans who died at hillsborough.

Please don't tar us all with the same brush as maybe a dozen or so tossers that will never understand or care about 97 people that died at Hillsborough, because it happened well before the best part of them dribbled onto their parents sheets.

You’re really not helping matters with your attitude. 5580 decent supporters came and behaved themselves, 20 morons didn’t and they were shameful and hopefully starting to get their just deserves.

You typify the stereotypical Liverpool fan so much. Arrogant, confrontational, delusional ... You're just playing the victim culture to an extreme. Practically every town fan has condemned these "fans" yet you want to go on and on about it. You're boring, like your clubs attitude and your atmosphere in your ground.
